Greetings to all Tech Adepts!
The Holy Synod of Mars returns for its monthly praises to the Omnissiah!
This month’s submissions were similar to the unit they highlighted: fewer in numbers, but higher in quality!
In September, the subreddit decided to crown a classical take on our new elite unit, straight up from a John Blanche illustration: congratulations to u/ToughEntertainer2317 for winning the September Mini of the Month contest with their Filthy Gryphonne IV Hastarii! The rust on these minis is so convincing that you might think that they are not made of plastic anymore…
The winning post has been added to the subreddit sidebar, and if you would like a custom user flair, please let us know.
Winning posts will remain in a 3 month cycle, so three will be present until they begin to cycle out.
Honourable Mentions!
Additional thanks
The mod team would like to also thank all the other participants of this month’s contest:
October Competition
While our cybercanids mostly sat in their mechanical stables due to rules that left them in the rarest part of the tenth edition meta, it’s time to bring them back in the limelight they always deserved: the coolest looking cavalry models in all of 40k, the Serberys Raiders & Sulfurhounds will be our October Mini of the Month!
Submit your unit of Serberys (this can include a kitbashed unit or even full proxies, as long as it is readable as Serberys).
(Reminder - don’t share links publicly to 3D printed files that replicate official models or parts)
Submissions must be fully assembled and painted.
The final date for submissions for this month's contest will be October 31st, and the results will be posted in the following days so we can have time to either pick the next Mini or run a poll on it.
Please submit your post in the following format:
Post Title as Hastariis or your homebrew Serberys’ name, forgeworld etc
<Mini of the month POST FLAIR>
<a photo of your Candidate>
Any custom lore your unit have on their service record, via Crusade games or homebrew or about your army, etc (optional)
The highest upvoted post will be displayed on the side bar of the sub, and the user can request a custom user flair (relating to the mechanicus) of their choice.
Ave Deus Mechanicus!
PS: big thanks to u/CuriousWhiteGoat for the photo of this month's post!

Greetings to all Tech Adepts!
The Holy Synod of Mars returns for its monthly praises to the Omnissiah!
With submission numbers as high as the legs of the units produced by your forges, this month saw Magi compete even more fiercely than usual ! It was very hard to pick the five honourable mentions this time around… So we have decided to get an extra one to celebrate this particularly great month.
Among the tall pile of even taller interpretations of our beloved Stilt-arii, one still stands above: the mod team would like to congratulate u/Which_Strike_6179 for their win with their incredible Kitbashed synodian skatros! Dynamism, posing, great design, you name it, this model has it all and provides many creative answers to some of the criticism the official sculpt received after its reveal while still respecting the core idea behind it.

It’ll be a tall order to our long legged friend, for it is certainly casting a long shadow… But which better kit to do this job that our only remaining 10th ed release that hasn’t been covered by our monthly routine? As such, both flavours of Hastariis will be our minis of the month in September!
Submit your unit of Hastariis (this can include a kitbashed unit or even full proxies, as long as it is readable as Hastariis).

I think now that a bit of time has passed, it has become clear that the changes to LotF (both nerfing servitors and increasing the detachment cost to 2 DP) basically killed that playstyle for good. I do think that the nerf to the battleclade was warranted, as they were some of the best infantry in the game, however, with the point decrease for Cohort Cybernetica and Eradication Cohort, there’s no reason to ever pick up LotF (or servitors) at the moment. This also killed niche strategies like Rad-Zone LotF for no reason.
In my opinion, they should probably revert LotF to 1 DP and give AdMech a bit of flexibility back. The army has been stuck in the middle of the pack for the entirety of 11th Edition, so there was no reason to outright kill a detachment.
To close this out, I'll quote Toby Barnwell, who recently went 5-0 at the Battle of Ragnarok GT, since he perfectly encapsulates my sentiment : "With one of the more confusing dataslates from GW, they nerfed the existing, very powerful AdMech 1DP and replaced it with an equally powerful 1DP, while at the same time buffing the 3DP rerolls detachment to 2DP—so I'm basically playing with 5DP of old-patch detachments."

I’m relatively new to the game side of the hobby, but I was thinking about more unique plays on the tabletop. I’m also a big fan of the transvector and have been trying to brute-force a use case for it into my army, lol.
Anyway, we all know the strategy for Rad-Zone is to pen the enemy in their deployment zone as much as possible to maximise mortal wounds and/or battle shock. With that in mind, is there any use for a transvector stuffed with two full Hastarii squads (maybe 1 fusilier, 1 exterminator) that can deep strike early-game either onto the enemy home objective or a nearby terrain piece, and essentially function as a meat block that the enemy would have to deal with while the rest of your army moves into position? It would be fairly expensive (350 points), but if deployed right it would keep the enemy tied up and struggling for their nearby objectives.
Is there anything to this or am I barking up the wrong tree? Appreciate any advice, particularly if any of you have had success with the transvector.

I hope I’m not breaking any rules. This is my first post, and I’d love to hear what you guys think about my list and get some recommendations.
I’m still learning how to play Ultramarines, but I’d also really like to start building my Adeptus Mechanicus army.

This is my own interpretation of the Sydonian Skratos as the original design for me screamed "haha funny man on stilts." Obviously, no shade towards the designers as they work hard to create these models. The design just didn't jive with me.
The main parts for these two are from the tech-thralls and thallax kits with the upper half of the former and lower half of the latter. The legs were extended with the barrels of a Onegar dunecrawlers icarus array auto cannons and 2mm plastic rod with the arms coming from the Skitarii rangers for the arquebus and the Sydonian Dragoon kit for the jezzail
Big inspiration from Dumb Robot Stuff and their video covering the Skratos: https://youtu.be/Ut6YHjrDSzw?is=P_5ZFJY2A-agInad
C&C very much welcome.

Hello everyone. After almost 20 years I decided to be back to WH40K. a friend of mine got some miniatures he wanted to get rid of, and they all were part of adeptus mechanicus. Cause for me they are a completely army, but I don't want to bin them, i would like to have a decent list. I love to play, i am not competitive at all. I find WH a great game to spend time with friends and family.
This is what he gave me: one belisarius cawl, one tech priest dominus, one tech priest manipulus, 10 skitarii rangers, 5 hastarii exterminators, 2 ironstrider ballistarii, 1 onagen dunecrawler,5 pteraxii sterylizors, 3 serberys sulphurhounds, 1 skorpius disintegrator.
Any advice for a good list? What to add what to remove? Thanks everyone in advance

Played a great game against Death guard the other day playing Purge mirror match with CyberErad. Got my arse absolutely handed to me, but that's fine. I totally forgot to use the eradication detachment rule all game and the dice were NOT in my favour.
But it did get me thinking. When I play Priority Assets, I have a very clear game plan of what I need to do and what I need to stop my enemy doing. With Purge it felt much more like reacting to my enemy and just trying to kill everything. I guess especially so since it was a mirror match.
How are people playing CyberErad? Purge or take and hold. And if Purge, how do you plan your games, or do you find it being much more reactive to where the enemy is and what they are doing?

I really hope for Horus heresy we get a new Aechmagos model. Because as alright as the current one is it’s a bit annoying to field the same Archmagos over and over again. I know kitbashing exists but idk

Hey everyone, I’ve been working on an admech army recently and I want some inspiration for making cool custom units. I’m a little confused by how much the priests are able to modify and make their own machines, so I want some ideas of what’s possible as well. Some examples off the top of my head:
- The giant mechanical worm featured in the eisenhorn series
-Early skitarii being feral cyborg barbarians wielding hellguns
- the explorator, featured in necromunda
-Various tech priests and freaky servitors
Literally anything helps, though I’d prefer to stay away from dark mech, just cause they’re kinda “do-anything”. Thank you!

I basically bought 2 Marshals and a friend of mine gave me some extra bits so I could kitbash the Marshal in the middle. Gotta say, the leftmost one looks awesome.

I am toying around with this list, what do you think? do you believe anything feels out of place or would be better replaced with something ese?

So to someone like me that knows very little to do with the ad mech what can you tell me about them? Please don’t hold back. Are there different versions of the ad mech like the ultramarines have different company’s for the chapter? Please let me know.

Got one of your loaner suits. What are the insurance rates on those Lightning Locks? Last I checked, it was a 2 for 1 deal for a prayer to the Omnissiah with both, but it may have changed in the past millennium.

Got absolutely wrecked by the new terminators recently and with a lot of space marine players taking advantage I want to be able to push back.
I'm thinking the ruststalkers can take down 5-6 terminators from the dunerider if I can keep them from using the -1D strat otherwise the Machine Superiority to ignore modifiers on one the ironstriders or even the dragoons will guarantee at least 3 go down on one activation. The Dunecrawler with the sus1/lethals strat also takes down 3-4 of them with that strat up.
The dragoons will otherwise be on dreadnought missile duty with a high chance of instantly deleting one.
Overall just trying to be as purge as possible, I'm new to this disposition but I'm looking forward to being killy.
Here's the list
_____
Imperium - Adeptus Mechanicus - Cohort Cybernetica, Eradication Cohort
Belisarius Cawl (220pts): Warlord
Thulia Ghuld (180pts)
Cybernetica Datasmith (35pts) with Martial Signatum Amplificator

Hey all,
Recently picked up a giant servoskull from the galvanic magnavent kit I want to convert into a HQ or other single model unit for my 30/40k Mechanicum.
What ideas / recommendations do you have that I could incorporate? What unit to focus the conversion around?
Thanks!
PS I also have a couple mediace servitors with tracks on from an objectives pack I plan to convert into priests or magos, thoughts on those?
