Workplace Question or Advice Needed Anyone know what type of label holder / signing holder the back wire bins in beauty use?

• Upvotes

I'm struggling to find what they're supposed to use. I was wondering if the ones we use in grocery work? We just underwent remodel and am trying to fill the gaps!

If you work in beauty, what is your big rolling cart thing supposed to look like???

Guest Question Target debit card troubles

Hello everyone, I just wanted to ask a few questions about the Target debit card. I made a few transactions, and the money hasn’t been taken from my account, but now I’m being told I’m in debt. I have a bank account linked to the card but it seems like my bank doesn’t accept ach batches. I’m a little confused and was wondering if I have to link another account to the card. I also wanted to know since I’m a team member and I don’t want to get in trouble over this any help is appreciated.

Future or Potential Employee Question Does Anyone know how to find a job in AP Oversight?

I feel like there’s a wall built between in-store AP positions and the oversight / C3 team. I’ve been really interested in an oversight job but I can’t get an answer from ANYONE as to how I can get into that career path.

I’ve tried asking my APBP and HRBP with no luck. They don’t know either. 😅

Any help is appreciated! Even just the actual job title that I can search/monitor.

thanks!!

Vent What’s the actual point?

I used to work at Target back in the day unloading the trucks. I was there when they started the scanning every box method then I left the company and since I’ve came back we have just started the scanning every box thing again.

Target wants us to scan every box to determine what is backstock and what is not, cool. But they also want all the backstock from the truck to be back stocked by 8AM. What’s the point of this metric? The team still will have backstock from the freight they’re pushing so what really is the point of this? Feels like an extra deadline to throw onto the Inbound/Gm team + leaders.

I genuinely would like to know the pros of this method. They stopped doing it before so it must’ve not worked then. It kinda drags the truck unload out, causing me to have to have an extra person just to scan/backstock during the truck. Just seems very extra and unnecessary. My team have still been able to complete 2HR unloads (most days) but the times we didn’t have to scan we went much faster.

I wonder if they’ll dead the process again. And have any of ya’ll been able to stay on top of this backstock by 8AM metric? What’s the point of it? (I’m a 4AM unload store btw)

I’m sorry if it’s not that relevant. I would like to work there for this particular reason but I want to know for sure that they provide this… does it cover egg freezing?

Vent ETL’s and management changes

Over the past year that I’ve been at target, multiple ETL’s have gotten fired, including the one for my department. There is currently no ETL for my department and hasn’t been for months. There is no one to ask about schedule changes or time off requests. Instead of replacing the front end department with a new ETL, they brought a new HR ETL and SD and the old SD got fired. I usually work late nights or somehow get scheduled on their days off, so can’t even ask them about anything. How this corporation is still functioning is shocking to me with the lack of communication and care for their everyday workers.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed TL & ETL expectations

I left Albertsons about 5 months ago after 5 years. Safeway specifically. The locations I gained experience at, were not even on their top 20 list. I never knew their exact position on the best locations, but I know as fact they were not top 20. I’ve seen top 20 lists.

Anyway, I recently moved to target and it happens to be #1 in its district. I’m merely 3 months into target. What makes the location #1? And how can I can help it stay that way? Am i supposed to be doing more than my title? I am F&B.

All I do is push everything consumable, Food and drinks. If it’s consumable I’ve touched it. Is there a time limit between U-boats? I almost always take more than 20 minutes doing a single U-boat. Or pallet. Every morning am i supposed to report to a E T L or am i supposed to Zone first thing before anything at all? Next is priorities? Then push actual product? Am I supposed to be filling what we need or do what they tell me? They do find me eventually and tell me what to do but I’ve approached them every morning before, wondering what to do, but I feel I should know and shouldn’t be asking how to do my job. I’ve actually stopped approaching them and began zoning dairy and coolers first thing I get into the store, unless I begin after 8:00am then I report to ETLs.

Back stocking. I don’t exactly do back stocking because yes, there are usually no zebras when I get in. So I can’t update the system and I can’t back stock. I usually check if a new one is available but it’s either Near death or still None. But when I do get a zebra I back stock immediately IF I’m not pushing already. And I never grabbed a walkie…ever. Since I began. My 90 days probation thing is over when October 17 passes. I’m still scheduled 3 weeks ahead. I’m pretty sure I am Not a Seasonal worker.

Im simply curious of Everything a ETL expects of its Members when considering timing and productivity. They always tell me push this or that and I do it and I listen. It’s either do Dairy, then do freezer and back to dairy. Some day it’ll be dry food then do 1 U- boat in freezer or just help freezer rest of the day. Or I do deli if the deli lady is gone. I’ve never touched produce even though I have produce experience at Albertsons. I told them in my application that I have produce experience. But I’ve never touched produce at target.

I don’t have a Market TL. She quit after a single month. I’m curious now what made her quit? They say it’s too much pressure? What pressure? What did they expect from her and how could have helped her. She was doing fine… At least I thought she was and even though I am slow going through U-boats, I bet ya I could’ve helped if my ETLs, I have 2 btw… if they could just tell me some secrets, I bet ya I could be so much better help. They never taught me how to audit either btw. Even though they are #1 in the district I feel they aren’t telling me things I should know. How fast am I supposed to be, and how can I help the ETL without him telling me what to do. I’ve never done receiving truck before. These guys are the fastest humans I’ve ever seen. I’m not anywhere near their speed. Am I supposed to be?

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Advice with managing two jobs

Hey so what do i do if my two jobs have overlapping schedules. There is some overlap on Halloween. I can work the day but i need to ask both jobs if i start early/later because of the overlap. I tried to update my availability at Target before schedule drop but my ETL was on vacation. I'm kinda scared to ask for help i posted to give away the shift but no one has picked it up and all my coworkers denied a trade so it is really stressful.

Vent priorities to backstock pipeline

oh my GOD . the boys who unload our truck and breakdown pallets for dairy and frozen havent been scanning items into the system and it makes it a nightmare for those of us (two fucking people) who do priorities . is there any benefit to doing that ??? other than breaking down going faster ??? like my TL doesn’t seem to be doing anything about it and she knows that i complain about y because NEWS FLASH ! if i spend time pulling a bunch of priorities and have a two tier full of stock and go to the floor and , i shit you not , ALL OF IT is backstock because the floor is full , im gonna be pissed

it would be whatever if they backstocked or stocked and then updated the floor counts but of course , thats too much work for them so they wont be doing that . idk , maybe its like a non issue but man does it tick me off . just wanted to get that off my chest

So our produce cooler is somewhat disorganized. I’m on the market team and I went in there the other day to try and organize it. I found a package of always maxi pads ripped open with half of them missing. Like WTAF?

Future or Potential Employee Question Seasonal job offer

Post image
2 Upvotes

Today I got a call from a woman saying that I got the season job at target and that I would receive an email with my job offer, upon accepting the job offer it said there was error and to refresh the page, I did and now the job offer says “in progress” but I didn’t get any confirmation email. Should I worry or did I successfully accepted the offer?

Future or Potential Employee Question Can I be rehired after being termed for 5th-hour meal break?

Hi all,

Recently, I was terminated from target after working for 3 and half years for taking a meal break at 5 hours instead of 4 hours and 59 minutes (if you're wondering how tragic it is, I took my final meal break at 5 hours exactly, praying at the time that it would be OK since it wasn't past 5 hours).

Being unemployed isn't fun nor is scrambling to nab another retail gig. I did, by the way, but it's not full time and relative to target it's more work for less money.

I left personally on good terms with management and my coworkers. I'd say everyone liked me there. It's tragic the way CA is hard and fast with this 3 strike policy on meal violations. My first violation was more than a year since I started so, as I learned, there's zero forgiveness on the three strikes like other infractions that have a 60-day rolling forgiveness period.

Anyway, I really did like working for target. And I called ahead with HR to check if I was rehirable. They said "yes" in 3 months. So I'm looking forward to the awkward reunion as I try and stay afloat with doordash and my part time gig at michael's.

But I have to wonder, were they just pulling my leg? I really hope not. Target was a good place to work.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Closing Lead Promotion

So I have an interview tomorrow for the closing team lead position. I’m not too worried about getting the promotion itself I just wanted some advice on what the interview may look like, what questions I should ask specific to the position, and the most important…pay raise. For some context my store starts TM’s at $15.75 an hour and I have also only been with target now for 8 months. I do have some managerial experience if that’s adds to anything. Any advice would be much appreciated!!

Vent New Food side dress code.

Aprons and hats in non food production areas? Really?
Will this help team morale or store sales? Absolutely not. How about concentrating on having enough team members to get the product on the floor. This in turn would help sales, would it not?
I don’t understand this reasoning at all. Will how we look to guests, make them spend more money?
I very much doubt it.
end of rant
Any thoughts that you would like to add, please do.

Vent Style

Ok, priority pulls. I’m closing shift. I come in every day to priority poles being 30% and below. My question is, isn’t there supposed to be a priority pull in the morning? Why is it always up to my shift to do it? And then we get in trouble if we’re late doing it. Am I wrong by saying they should be doing one?

Workplace Story Yay I'm back 😅

I'm a rehire and today was my first day back after orientation this week. I was actually supposed to start next week but HR called me yesterday evening and asked me to come in today at 6am-2pm to help push product in another department. My availability actually starts at 7am but eh, what's an hour early. I guess I could've made it 5 or 6am but they don't let you change it for about 90 days. I was really excited to come in, mostly because I've been job searching like crazy for the past year and it's such a relief to have finally gain employment. You'll know how that feels if you've applied at almost every business in your city, called and inquired about employment dozens of times, had plenty of interviews but no callback or they tell you they "moved on with other candidates", and have late and unpaid bills stacked higher than the freaking Eiffel. Despite the workload I'm going to have this season, I feel so much lighter knowing that my account balance is finally going to be in the triple digits again.

I starved most of my shift because I skipped breakfast (I never eat anything if I have to get up this early) and then towards the end I started getting a headache, likely from lack of sleep. But I'm still alive.
