For context, I created, built and executed a trickshot challenge in Zelda TOTK whereby you use a 5-shot Lynel bow to hit 5 Boko’s on a battle Talus. I spent a lot of time and effort thinking up the idea, finding the location, the lineups, the positioning in order to be able to hit the shot.
I then posted the video on July 1st and it got about 12k views. At the beginning of August, a larger account @sinnermangaming then posted a video copying the trickshot. Exact same location, lineups, technique to my original video. Of course, it was his own gameplay and he hit the shot himself, but he did none of the creative work in creating the challenge. He just repeated what I did.
His video got 650k views. He gave no credit to the original video or the person/ account who built the trickshot challenge.
Genuinely curious how we feel about this? On one hand he hit the shot, on the other he did none of the work for it and then claimed it as his own creation.
I reached out to him but have received no reply yet.
Should i take this as tough luck, no reason to cry about it? Or does the community feel that if someone copies a challenge someone else created they should give credit to the person who built the challenge?
I’ve posted both links to the different videos in the comments.
