This post is basically everything we know about the end of genaration.
So Europe has announced new laws that require relatively easy ways to replace your products batteries, in order to sell electronics. So seeing this, nintendo updated the switch 2 so that you could actually replace the batteries earlier this year. But the nintendo switch 1 was not got updated, and will not be sold in Europe after February 2027
You may think that this only affects Europe, but this is wrong. Nintendo has said this will coincide with the end of production for switch 1, heavily implying that it ends production globally.
“So, what good can come from this?“
This is all speculation of course, but the lack of a cheaper option on the market may force nintendo to make a switch 2 Lite. I have no idea if that is possible or not, but I think this is a possibility because this is exactly what happened with the original switch Lite. Nintendo didn't have a handheld on the market for when they ended the 3ds, so they made one!
"What happens to the online?"
The Eshop and online services for switch 1 are linked to switch 2. Meaning that there is no chance of shutdown anytime soon. In fact, one of my theorys is that the online will stay up forever.
"Will there be new games for switch 1?"
3rd party games im sure will continue until 2035. But this is just a guess. 1st party games have already ended unfortunately.

Hey everyone!
I'm thinking about buying my first Nintendo Switch, and I have the opportunity to get a brand-new Switch Lite for just $100.
I'll mainly be playing Pokémon games (Sword/Shield, Scarlet/Violet, Legends: Arceus) and possibly some Zelda games like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
My biggest concern is performance and graphics. How well do these games actually run on the Switch Lite? Is the smaller screen still enjoyable, especially for games like Pokémon Scarlet/Violet?
The alternative would be buying a Switch 2 for around $450, which is obviously a huge price difference.
I mostly plan to play in handheld mode, so connecting to a TV isn't important to me.
Would you say the Switch Lite is still a good buy for $100 in 2026, or is it worth spending the extra $350 for the Switch 2?
I'd love to hear your experiences, especially from people who play Pokémon on the Lite.
Thanks!

Hey everyone,
I'm seriously considering picking up The Crew Motorfest for the Nintendo Switch 2, but I’m on the fence about a couple of things and wanted to get the community's thoughts.
Is it actually worth buying on the Switch 2? How does the port run, and is the content/car culture vibe holding up well for on-the-go play?
Online-only vs. Offline Mode: I remember hearing a massive uproar when Ubisoft completely killed off the original The Crew, making it unplayable. I know Ubisoft officially promised down the line that The Crew Motorfest would eventually get an offline mode to prevent that from happening again, but right now at launch, it still requires a persistent connection.
For anyone already playing it or following the updates:
Does the game feel worth your time and money right now?
Do we have any clearer timeline on when that promised offline mode is actually dropping?
Appreciate any advice or reviews before I pull the trigger!

What was the hardest LEVEL in the game for you, and did you reach the Lost World? I really hope they will make a Donkey Kong Country 4 one day with the same sprite graphics. The golden days...

As the title says, I’ve played Xbox pretty much forever. But I have really specific tastes. Never play online or against others, just solo campaigns.
I’ve only ever enjoyed a few specific series: Far Cry, MLB The Show, Grand Theft Auto. And occasionally, I play offline against bots on Black Ops 1 or MWII on my 360. Also, on original Xbox I pretty much only played NFL Street.
That said, you can probably tell, I’ve only really enjoyed games about humans - no sci-fi or fantasy or anime or cartoony things.
What recommendations do you have for me on Switch OLED? I just got one for long flights and work trips. I’ll occasionally play at home on the dock too. The only game I have so far is The Show 24.
Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

So I just got a switch 2 my question is, could my sister share her digital game library with me and could I share my digital game library with her simultaneously? Meaning that I could play a game she bought digitally (Legends Arceus) and she could play I’ve purchased digitally (Pokemon Violet + DLC). Sorry this must be a repetitive question, I am not very familiar with the Switch ecosystem. Thank you!

Hola chicos, tengo una duda. Hasta ayer he realizado todas mis compras de codigos digitales sin problemas. Hoy he revisado mi cuenta y aparece como no disponible un gran número de codigos digitales. Solo aparecen unos cuantos codigos. Esto es normal?

It doesn't look great, but I wanted something low profile to allow better control of the device when playing while laying down. Two Lovehandle phone grips placed on the back. They work great and don't really change the thickness of the console!

The eshop page for Paw Patrol Dino World on Switch says 2.6 gb download size for Switch and 4.1 gb download size for Switch 2. https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/paw-patrol-dino-world-switch/?srsltid=AU7gw4Xr1BNP_cWWLvq58hwR1c2KVhHT11LjnKnOW7YyoUwJiJelUF3C
Meanwhile, the dedicated page for the Switch 2 version of the game says 2.9 gb and 3.4 gb 🤦🏻♂️ https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/paw-patrol-dino-world-switch-2/?srsltid=AU7gw4XmUOJMmL2K8uq4cZGAP-d_Vy7s1sEk2FRUiylgEgD8pK77W5q9
Why is the download size for the Switch 1 version larger if playing on Switch 2? Is there an upgrade path? Why is a Switch 1 file size even listed on the page for the Switch 2 version of the game? Is it playable on Switch 1/includes the Switch 1 version?

Smyths ireland just dropped the 2nd batch of pre-order, this version come with user-replaceable battery.
They also added new version of Zelda 40th anniversary pro controller, come with replaceable battery also.

Here is a project I decided to do for the only special edition Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller released to date; the Resident Evil Special Edition.
I really really like the Handmaid's Tale type look this color scheme gives everything. I liked the Z buttons in white and I love that the connect button is red in a field of white on the top of the controller.
A caveat of this project is that the red shell is painted red over a white base. I'd be concerned with rough use that scratches would show through the white body beneath. So it's possible this modded controller wouldn't handle rough wear and tear as much as the stock edition would.

I wanted to make some minor changes to the stock Joycon2s that come with the Switch 2. I wanted the changes to be subtle so they could be mistaken as a 'stock' device from Nintendo. I am really happy how this turned out. I'll probably do another set for the green/purple JoyCon2's and keep these as spares or move them to another location. I used eXtremeRate button replacements and side trim to complete this project.

Here is the S2 I modded before the Zelda 40th editions were announced. Even with the official devices announced, I'm very happy with how the shell replacement worked out for the main console and the Joycon2s. I used the purple and green Joycon2s since I like the purple and green better than red, blue, or black for Zelda theme. Overall, this helped create a very unique Zelda themed S2.
I used eXtremeRate shell replacements for the full shell, certain buttons, and the magnetic release buttons. I kept the gamechat and capture buttons as stealth black (original buttons) since I do not use them regularly. I used the matcha green trim and magnet release buttons from eXtremeRate. It's not the most ideal green to match the rest of the case, but it will do for now. I thought about using the matcha green buttons for the home button but I didn't like it as much as the gold.
I'm still undecided on either of the dock covers I have so far (see pics). Each has their pros and cons but neither seems to fit the shell replacement aesthetic perfectly. I also don't want a case with the identical symbol as the back of the S2 has now. All-in-all this is a work in progress but I am happy with current results. I will have an official Zelda S2 console to compare it to at the end of the month.

Hey guys (: My mom wants to buy my Switch 1, but she doesn’t know if she would be able to find some games she would enjoy. She doesn’t really play video games, but she really likes games with puzzles and story telling. She’s also an artist, so good visuals is something very important to her. A game too violent or with too much fights would not fit her well.
Do you guys have any suggestions for her? Thanks!
