I’m having a recurring issue with Stremio: The subtitles often fade into the background, especially on white or light scenes.

Within the same video, they might look normal at one moment and then almost disappear at another, repeating hundreds of times.

I’ve tried adjusting opacity, background, and outline settings, and even updated Stremio, but nothing seems to fix it. Any tips on how to make the subtitles consistently visible like they were for years?

I'm using a "Strong leap nova x" tv stick and my stremio has been updated to the latest version

FOUND A FIX (it's still a bit bugged when you minimize and maximize but no black screen)

run these 2 commands in the terminal

flatpak override --user --env=WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1 com.stremio.Stremio

flatpak override --user --env=WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1 com.stremio.Stremio

This fixed it for me even though it's not 100% fix the developer should do something about this but anyway temporarly i'll say it's good to go

so i just noticed that 4-5 episode that i watched from stremio are 100% loded without buffer like were are thay storing those 700 mb episode are they in my ssd are they taking my ram do they save everything i watch or there is a limit to it?

Is there any problem right now with stremio on android tv devices?
I had problems with EXO player, tried de server fix, and now stremio load movie, but the player stay on 00:00 and after some seconds app crashes

Is anyone else having issues with frame rate matching on Stremio 1.11.3 on the NVIDIA Shield TV? Whenever I start a movie or episode, playback doesn’t start immediately. The video seems to stay paused on the first frame, and I have to press play manually. Frame rate matching also seems to take longer than it used to.

I’m looking for some clarity regarding lossless audio passthrough on Stremio.

My Current Setup:

TV: Samsung Neo QLED (running native Tizen OS)

Soundbar: Samsung HW-Q990D (connected via HDMI eARC)

App: Built-in Stremio app from the Samsung TV app store

My questions are:

1) Can the native Tizen OS pass through TrueHD / DTS losslessly via eARC?

2) Will upgrading to an external streaming device solve this? If so, will a standard budget box like the Mi Tv Box S 3rd gen (or similar) properly pass through full TrueHD and DTS-HD MA over eARC/direct soundbar passthrough, or do I need to buy the expensive Nvidia Shield TV Pro to get the most out of the Q990D?

I’d love to see a “Random Episode” button added to TV series in Stremio.

The idea is simple: when viewing a series, you could press the button and Stremio would automatically select and play a random episode from the available seasons.
It would be especially useful for shows like The Simpsons, Friends, The Office, etc., where you can watch episodes in any order without needing to follow the story.

Ideally, it could also have options like:
🎲 Random episode from the entire series
🎲 Random episode from the current season
🔀 Avoid repeating recently watched episodes

I think this would be a really nice addition for people who like having a show playing without having to choose an episode every time.

This started a few weeks ago. It happens in all different shows. Sometimes the audio is ahead of the video, sometimes behind, and sometimes it never seems to match up no matter what I do. Is there any fix for this? I’m very tired of trial-and-error trying to manually sync it.

Stremio v1.6.12 on a Samsung TV. I have enabled tunneled playback and hardware accelerated decoding.

Hi everyone! Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I’m currently using Stremio on my Samsung TV and it’s been working great!

I’m thinking about getting the upcoming new Apple TV 4K, but before I pull the trigger, I’d like to know how well Stremio works on Apple TV.

For those of you who own an Apple TV and use Stremio, how’s your experience? Is it possible to use Stremio smoothly, or are there any limitations or workarounds?

I find myself logged out of stremio everytime i close the app and comeback later, it started like 2 days ago. Anyone know the reason?

For some reason I use to watch stemio on iPhone (Home Screen shortcut) just fine without having to enable a external playback. For some reason all my items today showed “This video is not supported” and was forced to enable VLC. Super annoying and wonky using VLC id rather have it play right in app so it saves where I was. Any solutions ?

I think this is a rhetorical question and the answer is NO. But...if this AI stuff is actually capable, could a request such as "Siri, play a Remux version of Blade Runner 2049 in Stremio" even in the realm of possibility?

The latest version of Stremio for Android TV, often fails to display subtitles. Any solution?

Edit: using addons: Legendasdivx.pt; opensubtitles v3; opensubtitles PRO. The problem it happens with all 3 addons.

I only use prime video and stremio on my Samsung 4K 2020 tv. I don’t find the new appleTV for $450AUD worth it to install these two apps. I’m not a gamer either.

The 3rd gen is being sold at a ridiculous price at marketplace since the price increase so I want to get even older model. But am concerned with App security outdated on older Apple TV models and if they are gonna be slow or cumbersome to install. For those of you using stremio via sideloading, what older model will you recommend ? Or what issues are you facing with the older models?

Edit: I am already deep into Apple ecosystem and like it so I’m not keen on exploring other devices. I’m not allowed to ask about anything stremio in AppleTV reddit and am hence posting here.

Hello, so I have a Samsung S90F, and I usually just watch remux films that are pretty large in file size, and a good amount of anime. I also just got a Core 300 soundbar that I want to get the most out of. I have heard good things about the AM6B+ and the AM9 Pro, which seem pretty good, but they seem to have a lot of steps for setup and have bugs frequently. I was originally going to go with Apple TV, but I've heard people say it's useless if you're using Stremio. I just want to know what box will give me the best quality for visuals and sound through my soundbar, and not have a ridiculously complicated setup, because with my normal TV all I had to do was install the Stremio app on the TV and I was good to go. Thank you!

Just like in the title, when I watch HDR content on stremio with Exo, there is obviously sharpening enabled, and I can't do anything to disable it, and I don't remember that this was an issue earlier. Issue don't occur on stremio on my Samsung TV app, but I prefer using it on my Mi Box 3, because of audio codecs etc. Anyone have this issue?

strangely it doesn’t work i mean it was fine before this update the 1.2.2 the one released some days ago, i would really want the v5 of stremio working but i’ll install again the 4.4 because as always stremio is broken

I think this issue only happens with my android tv, since the stremio app on my phone and tablet works well. When I try to load anything an error message pops up. It says:

Exo failed to play this video

Source error:java.net.ConnectException:Failed to connect to/(server url)

when i go to settings> server> status it shows "error" so I assume it is a server issue. Does anybody know how to fix this?
