Success! Two weeks old, eyes barely open, screaming in my garden in Poland. The cat distribution system does not take no for an answer.

I'm Portuguese, living in a village in Poland. Strays have always turned up in the garden and I've always fed them — but this one was different. She was about two weeks old and too small to run from anything.

Bottle every three hours, including through the night. A warm towel. A lot of patience and no idea what I was doing.

She made it. She's now in charge of the house, and the other cats who live outside have never let me touch them — they know me, they know what time I show up with food, and they bolt if I get within five metres. She's the only one who ever came close.

Her name is Tuga. It's short for "saudade" in a roundabout way — the Portuguese word for missing something you love.

We’re hoping to raise a little help for three community cats who need some medical care. ❤️ We’re a small, grassroots effort of just two people caring for a lot of cats in the community, so any support would mean a lot to us.

The first kitten was dumped at the public market fairly recently. He has mange and a respiratory infection and needs treatment for both. One of the kind shopkeepers there has been looking after him, but we’d really like to help get him treated as well.

The second cat is Conan. He’s been around for a while and has been very feral this whole time. He badly needs a dental and neutering, as he’s been struggling with his teeth for a while and can’t groom himself properly. He’s almost always dirty and prone to recurring skin issues because of it. Thankfully, he’s recently started eating out in the open instead of underneath cars, so it will be a lot easier to trap him now and start his rehabilitation.

The third is Ollie, one of our community cats who lives inside our apartment building. He’s also been struggling to eat for the past few days and has been pawing at his mouth. 😔 He needs a dental as well, and we’re hoping to bring him in alongside Conan if funds allow, since we’ll be traveling to another city for their dental care.

Estimated expenses:
- Kitten: consult, blood work, take-home meds + mange treatment: $47
- Conan: dental, neuter + rabies vaccine: $177
- Ollie: dental: $160

We don’t expect to raise all of this at once given the amount, but anything would help us get them the care they need. We can only keep helping community cats like these with your support, and we’re truly grateful for it.

Thank you! We'll share updates in the comments and in a separate post.

Im from Karachi, which is a city in Pakistan. And yeah we do have a whole lot of strays roaming around the streets, around chicken shops and local restaurants. The ppl here do take care of them, but I just wish i could be there for those cats who are not taken care of.

Colony/TNR Help (Location) Over 60 rescue cats in Morocco are running low on food, litter and vital supplies

Thank you to everyone who has supported our rescue work so far. Thanks to your help, many injured cats have been able to recover.

I look after more than 60 stray cats here in Morocco. Most of them have special needs — some are blind, some have permanent injuries, and others are still recovering from sickness. One of them is a mother cat we found while she was expecting kittens; her little family still needs wet food every day to stay healthy and grow strong.

Just food and cat litter cost us about 1 200 USD each month, and our stock is almost empty. We also need other essential items: eye drops for blind cats, diapers for cats that cannot walk, bandages and wound‑care supplies.

As a solo independent rescuer, I depend fully on support from people around the world. If you can help, our donation links are below:

Every small contribution helps us keep caring for these vulnerable cats. Thank you for your kindness.

💔 We saved Tuffy from paralysis, and now he is fighting for his life again.😭
Tuffy suffered fractures in both his back legs, which left him paralyzed. We fought for him, and he underwent surgery with rods to repair his broken legs. Slowly, he began to recover, and the day he started walking again was a moment of pure happiness for us. 🥹❤️
We thought he was finally getting his chance to live the happy life he deserved. But now, Tuffy has been attacked by FPV, and we are terrified and heartbroken. After everything he has endured, seeing him suffer again is devastating.
Please, keep Tuffy in your prayers. 🙏💔 We desperately want him to survive this battle, regain his strength, and finally enjoy the beautiful life we fought so hard to give him.
We also need help with his treatment. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference in his fight.
**Please don’t give up on Tuffy. He has fought so hard to walk again. Please pray that he makes it through this too.**

8 days ago, this sweet little guy showed up to my house, he had a pretty nasty respiratory infection, so I made up a spot for him in my garage, gave him some food and water along with an old litterbox with the intention of taking him to my local Humane Society the next day so he could get better care.

The Humane Society informed me they were at capacity and asked me to care for him until the had space to take him, which I was more than happy to do.

Over the next 8 days, I'd give him fresh food and water, let him wander around the garage and snuggle up with me while I sat on the floor and gave him tons of love.

What I didn't expect was how emotional the day I had to give him over to the Humane Society would be. I couldn't hold back my tears despite my best efforts while I filled out the paperwork

But I know in my heart he's in the best place for him to get the care I can't provide for him and I know wherever he ends up, he's going to make a special person/people very happy with all the love and cuddles he has.

But there's a very somber part of me that can't help but wish that I was still sitting on the floor of my garage, petting his head while he makes biscuits on my jeans. I'm gonna miss that more than anything.

The first 6 pictures are mine, the last 3 are the Humane Society's

I Found a Cat (Location) What to do with this affectionate stray cat?

I started putting a bowl of food outside my house (Appartment). I don't see which cats come to eat but this one cat is always outside and just wants to cuddle.

Naturally, I've become attached to her and feel like she might enjoy a home. However, my cat is really hostile towards her and doesn't allow her inside the house. She's also pretty happy outside and has alot of cat friends.

I thought of letting her into the house to cuddle and maybe play and letting her leave when she wants to. But my cat isn't getting to used to her and her scent and the only way to make them get used to each other is by keeping her inside the house. I would prefer for her to be able to leave, so maybe keeping her inside for 2 weeks until they get used to each other and then let her roam free. But my sister thinks she might become terretorial towards the house and not want to leave anymore. We don't want to keep her inside permanently because she seems happy outside. There are of course other considerations, like not sure if we want to commit etc.. that would make that a better option.

What should we do?

Found Kittens (Location) 3 stray kittens in freezing weather

Hi, I really need advice. I have read so much about this but can’t figure out what to do. These cats are about 6 months old, I think, I live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and I haven’t seen the mom since before I started seeing the kittens.

There are three stray kittens living in the abandoned lot next to my apartment building. They are pretty skittish, although I have only tried to approach twice. I think they’re around 6 months old. I already have two cats, which is the max allowed according to my lease, and I could be evicted if I bring more inside (but I’m considering it anyway).

I have contacted 6 shelters in the area (I live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa). Only one might have room (the rest either didn’t reply to emails, or straight up told me no). The one who might have room needs a picture of each cat being held, so I have to earn the kittens trust to get those pictures. I understand why, but I think that will take a while.

Unfortunately, I live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and there is a freeze warning tomorrow night. I really don’t want them to freeze. My apartment is on the third floor, and the lot is fenced off, so I am feeding them in the area between my parking lot and the adjacent abandoned lot. This is technically illegal, and I think I could get in trouble with the management company. I definitely think if I build a shelter in this basically industrial area, I will get in trouble (or it will just get taken down). I can’t figure out anywhere to hide it, except maybe in the abandoned lot? But the lot is fenced off, the kittens can only get in through a small hole near the ground.

There is someone else taking care of these cats as well. I have left notes for them, and even run into one of them once. He said he got my notes, and that him + his girlfriend will text me, but I haven’t heard from them. He said they want to adopt one of them. That is why I haven’t been trying to interact with the kittens, because he said that they will get good pictures of the cats and send to me. And I read that interacting with them at the same time every day, which is what this guy was doing, was the best way to build trust. But when I fed them right before he got there, they wouldn’t come out for him. So I think it is just that they only want to eat 1x at night. I do think that him and his girlfriend have been feeding the cats, but I haven’t heard from him, I don’t have good pictures, and no one will help me.

I posted about these cats on NextDoor, and everyone went crazy in the comments telling me not to feed them. That is the sentiment here.

I have talked to someone about TNR. But I feel awful doing that when I really do think that they are friendly and just need a few days to get used to people. Because I was reading about how if we do TNR, they will clip their ear, and then no shelter will take them, even if someone has room. And even TNR won’t change the fact that it is about to be winter in Iowa (got to -40 here last year).

I have thought about posting on FB, asking if anyone wants to adopt them, but I keep reading about malicious people getting cats through there.

There is an “Animal Care and Control Center“, but they euthanize a lot of the animals that they come into contact with. So better to stay outside than to do that.

I cry about these cats every single day since finding them! (Except for a brief period when I thought the other people would help). I feel so bad for these kittens and I feel like I have no good options and I don’t know what to do. I’m like willing to help financially but I really am scared to bring them into my small apartment, around my own cats. But I would rather that then have them freeze? The real issue is that I could get evicted if they find I have more than 2 cats in here. And I already have 2.

Please if you have any advice for what I should do, let me know.

I Found a Cat (Location) Advice for Street Cat

Hi everyone,

I adopted a very friendly street cat 2 weeks ago. He is very friendly to me, but not so much to my other two cats. Forunately, both my boys are friendly and want to be his friend, but he is hissy and has chased them a few times. Does anyone have any tips on getting the street cat to chill? He has lived on the streets for almost a year, and although he is friendly to most humans, I am sure that he has had to fend off other street cats to protect his food, and so he is also food aggressive. Both my cats are grazers, but my new boy gobbles up his food and then goes for the other cats food. I have a large studio and I feed him in the bathroom, but I don't want to leave him in their all day while I am at work. Should I just feed them once a day at night so I can make sure the new boy doesn't eat everyone's food? I currently feed them raw 2x a day. Also, any tips on acclimating the street cat to my boys?
