question Does a GTX 1660 Super launch SteamOS properly?

Can someone let me know, I don't want to destroy my computer by not being able to revert it if it won't work

You're going to have to use Bazzite or CachyOS instead since there is no official Nvidia support for SteamOS.

I'll be honest. If you aren't capable of finding this information yourself, you will hate working with any Linux distro.

I just was wondering because it worked for some people and the internet could be wrong

Don’t think it supports Nvidia yet

If you search “Steam OS requirements “ you’ll see that Nvidia cards are not currently supported

3.10 has Nvidia drivers and kernel module built in. Gaming mode gamescope does have issues that has not been fully fixed yet. Example, there is still no 4k support and anything over 60hz can cause visual issues depending on the EDID handshake between steamOS and your display. There are some "workarounds" but these are not guaranteed to work for everyone 1 to 1. If you aren't planning on using gaming mode, you won't have any problems.

If your want an arch based build still, cachy os is the way to go. It's also arch based. If you just want to dabble, bazzite is one that is hard to break and will have what you need out of box as well.
