What I really want is for Valve to unify the desktop experience with the Gamescope UI into a new desktop format, because the way things work right now, everything feels so out of place, you know

I don’t know, in fact. Mind elaborating on how it feels out of place? It seems like it does exactly what it’s prioritizing to do.

What would that look like in your mind?

When I talk about unifying the desktop experience with Gamescope/Big Picture, I mean creating a desktop that works well with both a controller and a keyboard and mouse. I don't like being forced to switch to desktop mode every time I need to work. Anyway, I was just rambling

I made a similar post on YouTube as to where Valve should go to. A universal modding platform is the future I envision as well instead of chasing hardware like the Steam Frame that seems to not have found its place and the Steam Machine that simply feels to expensive for the average user.
Given the inevitably of 99% of games getting decompiled essentially in the next year having a centralized hub as to store and share those mods would be ideal. That said, I imagine there'll be huge pushback from devs as they seem extremely scared that all of this is happening.

Steam Workshop *is* Valves Mod Manager.
It lacks some features (eg mod ordering) but what exactly is missing?
Mod Packs are there, they are just called collections.
Mod profiles and showing proton compatibility would be nice though.
