Question Controller problems

Was lucky enough to get my frame day one so I've been putting some hours on it, I got the ergo kit with the hand straps, is anyone else noticing the battery doors on the controllers starting to loosen up? They have some give to them and I can push them back in but there's always a gap between the controller body and the door, straps are not over tightened. Another thing is on the right controller sometimes the pinky finger stay halfway curled in games with full finger tracking, I'm hoping it's a software thing as it seems to go away when I disconnect the controller and reconnect it, but it happens in VR chat and half life alyx, I don't wear rings or anything and it still does it when I'm not even touching the controller. Just want to know if anyone else has noticed these things, thanks

The tracking is something they will hopefully add a calibration to in the future. I've found it does the same but with the pinky on my left hand.

For the battery doors, make sure you lay them into place a little below where they should be, then slide them up. I've found that works well for mine when I'e had to change the batteries.

Good to know it's not just me on the finger tracking, it's nothing detrimental but still just one of those things I would hope not to have to deal with on a brand new set of controllers, hopefully they fix it at some point. As for the battery doors I had to take them on and off a few times to adjust hand straps and I think the mechanism may just be settling, I'll probably just have to deal with it.

For me it's also the left pinky, so hopefully a software issue

I'd double check if you mounted straps as in instruction and there's nothing in the way, doors have a physical spring loaded lock, it is impossible for them to be opening unless there's something wrong.

The straps are installed correctly, the battery doors don't open all the way, it just seems like the holding mechanism may be settling or wearing out prematurely, a few nights ago I had taken the doors off and put them back on a few times trying to figure out which slot felt the best for the hand strap, and I only noticed after that.

might be a case for steam support to get them replaced.
