I’ve tried everything in settings and rebooting next is factory reset . Or downloading an entire new steam OS .

You need to do a hard reset via bios - Google how to do this and it should fix your issues

As a consumer I think things should just work when you pay over 400$ for them . Maybe in some other time

When you switch to desktop, does your wifi names have a (1) or [1] after you have tried connect?

Yeah, but when you are in desktop mode, does the name of your wifi now have brackets randomly at the end?

Either way,

I had a similar issue

Go to desktop mode

Open up Konsole

sudo systemctl restart iwd
sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager

Reset the console.

This weirdly may enable Power saving mode for the Wifi but see if this fixes first.

I think my comment triggered a auto bot.

This will delete all wifi and reinstall it.

Last option is just factory resetting the whole deck, OR if you have a dongle with ethernet, using that as the recent update fixed this issue for me, used to happen once a day till I updated.

I’m just finna get a steam os recovery image . I didn’t use console to have a broken deck I shouldn’t have to use console to fix it this is bullshit and if that doesn’t work I’m taking that shit to an outdoor gun range and finding a new hobby .

Ok annoyingly, this problem just popped back up when trying to help you and the two lines didnt help me either.

I switched to the alternative wifi backend by using this command

echo -e "\n[device]\nwifi.backend=wpa_supplicant" | sudo tee -a /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf

all 1 single line

THEN resetting the deck

THEN

sudo systemctl restart iwd

sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager

As two different commands and it came back up.

idk wtf is going on
