Steam controller not recognized on gta

Im not sure if anyone else is having this problem but when I boot the rockstar launcher from steam my controller will only use default desktop settings even though its been fine for months. I also tried changing my desktop keybinds to normal game binds but it still goes back to default in game. I cant add gta itself through steam for some reason, its having conflicts with Rockstar launcher. Anyone know any solutions?

Ok glad I am not the only one, I have tried so many options but nothing works yet.

Apparently it is BattlEye. When disabled the overlay works.
