Support I'm having gyro drift, even after recalibration and turning it off and on again. Any fixes?
As you can see I'm holding the controller completely still but it drifts a little to the left. Any way I could fix this? Or will I have to RMA it?
Edit for more info: Day one controller, recieved three days after purchase, firt time I'm noticing the issue being this bad though. The firmware is up to date. Issue persists over the puck on my PC and over Bluetooth on my Steamdeck.
Edit edit: Going into Controller Settings, Calibration & Advanced settings, then in Gyro Calibration I enabled 'Enable Software Calibration for Steam Controller' and calibrated again. This fixed the issue for me, it seems that the hardware is in fact faulty but the software can adjust for it. This does mean I have to do this manually for every device I use it on, but I'll take it over a non-functioning gyro sensor.

Have you updated the firmware?

I make sure to always keep it up to date, this is a launch day model, I got it in 3 days after the first sale went open if that matters, this is the first time I'm noticing the drift being this bad though.

Increase the dead zone.

The deadzone would have to be huge since the drift is quite heavy, kind of removing the purpose of gyro since I use it for fine movements.

Does gyro work in any other game?
Nevermind, it looks like you figured it out.

yeah the drift happened in every game and every device I tested, fortunately I was able to use their Software Calibration to adjust for the hardware offset of the gyroscope. But it seems the gyroscope is in fact faulty so I asked Steam Support anyway. For now I'll be happily playing my videogames though! Thanks for the help.
