I can confirm if you have RL on Steam you get to avoid the epic launcher all together. Source: I’ve played the game since 2016 and have installed it on both Steam and epic and thankfully I get to keep using Steam’s version, which is way better since I also have built in workshop support 😎.

My only issue is I got chat banned 8 years ago (adult with a job in a better place now) and you can't use a different steam account to play ranked

Actually, I recently got my friend to family share on steam with me so I could play rocket league without Epic. You can get around the ranked restriction by toggling on multiple selections, choosing a playlist, backing out to the prior screen, and pressing quick play

I have it on steam! One of the downsides is you get flash banged with a white screen when the game is loading. Very annoying.

Game definitely has gone corporate. I just want to do quick play and run a couple matches. I ignore any and all loot boxes and seasonal shenanigans. IDGAF if my goal explosions are rick and Morty or whatever.

Yeah I don’t have the flashbang issue, this very well could be to do with your graphics drivers or something. It might be worth googling/doing a fresh Graphics drivers install using DDU. It’s kind of a funny issue to have tho lmao.

I think what you mean by “corporate” is more about it being a F2P model now. Which is designed to drive engagement through the things you mentioned (events, loot boxes, lots of bundles to spend money on, etc.) which, I could take it or leave it, to me it’s like a fun little collectathon every now and again when I hop on.
