They got us guys.

How out of touch can you be as a company, this is embarrassing

[u/Klutzy_Anybody_1487]

as long as they actually don't poach devs but try to make competitive product with steam, I'm happy with that

[u/Haunter777x → u/Klutzy_Anybody_1487]

I mean, I'm pretty sure they just fired or redistributed a whole bunch of fortnite devs so they can vibe code the new disney fortnite gamemode soooooo

Epic Games delays Disney project and pivots to "AI-first" game development | Radio Times

After hearing the news of a faster launcher for the first time, I thought that they finally did something good for once. Seems I was too naive to think that.

Never underestimate Tim Sweenys ability to shit the bed I suppose.

Don't forget the dev with terminal(?) cancer

[u/I_ateabucketofpaint → u/Giecio]

they fired the guy who designed Jonesy

You know. Mr Joe Fortnite himself.

Imagine if ID software or Mojang fired Romero or Notch instead of them just quitting.

I do not understand the appeal of vibe coders for making anything but slop. Its like, instead of getting an architect and engineer to design a building, then build it with experienced workers, they grabbed 10 guys and a bunch of wood and brick , had them throw it all together and then waited with a notebook to take down people's complaints on what is wrong.

That wasn’t even a fortnite gamemode, it’s a whole ass new game

[u/Billyxmac → u/Klutzy_Anybody_1487]

I wouldn’t hold your breath lol

[u/Kuro013 → u/Klutzy_Anybody_1487]

It would be weird if a valve dev decided to go to EGS.

[u/Soulstiger → u/Kuro013]

"hmmm I'm being paid truck loads of money. Maybe I should apply to work at EGS for minimum wage, zero job security, and be told that 'hand written code isn't allowed'"

[u/mhythes → u/Klutzy_Anybody_1487]

they just fired like 1k employees
