One time I bought a game and hated it so much, got the refund no problem. Years later, I had forgotten that this happened, and I was like, "Oh, this game looks interesting," bought it, IT WAS THE SAME GAME LMAO. I was so embarrassed but I asked for yet another refund, boom, granted, no problem. Steam really is the best.
That was me and Stellaris. Game would not run, I spent hours tinkering with it, following every conceivable guide, clean installs, complete data wipes and everything in between and could never get it to work. I'm a huge 4x fan so years later I bought it again forgetting the pain, redid the whole thing before getting it refunded a second time
I make refund requests almost every week.. but I buy several games per week so it regularly happens that I come across games that crash or are very poorly optimized and Steam has always reimbursed me
I wish I had someone this chill on my current ticket. They just responded with the most generic "but our policy says this" and provided a link to the game's support page on steam. It honestly read like an AI response and they didn't even read what I typed at all.
