Founder researching best startup accounting firms before signing, anyone been a client long enough to weigh in?

Alright, so this is my second time around as a founder so hopefully this is the right place for this. We are a tiny four person B2B business and I am very close to signing a small startup focused accounting firm after a late filling from the previous company after they costed us actual cash. So, yeah, not making that mistake again.

I've spent pretty much around a solid month researching and while all the reviews I've read so far are pretty posstive like those of haven and a few others, I still feel like I need to hear from someone who's not featured on their websites and has had some real experience with them.

If anyone's been through this already and has seen the ups and downs, I'd really appreciate a few pointers. Ty.

If you ever want to learn how to market your SaaS, this is for you.

For the past year, I’ve been trying to market my websites, but I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong. I kept posting and posting, hoping to get more traffic, but my posts barely got any views.
Eventually, I started thinking about building a product that could help me with marketing. I wanted it to be free and open source, so I created Falbor. I’d really appreciate your feedback. Do you think it could actually help people market their websites?

If you like the idea, consider giving the repo a ⭐ and contributing to Falbor. I'd love to build this together and help other people who struggle with marketing their websites too.

How often should I hire contract review services? Is it for every contract?

Sorry I'm a new founder and my business partner just asked me about what do we do with contracts so I'm a bit lost. The advice I usually see online is that, just get someone to look at contracts when it's the heavy stuff then just have them look at templates if they're correct and reuse them. Is that actually sound advice? Is it more worth it if they just draft the contract themselves instead of just reviewing?

I built Falbor: a free, open-source AI platform that unifies competitor research, growth analytics & SEO auditing in one workspace

UPDATE: Falbor is now live – awaiting your honest feedback!

I got tired of jumping between five different marketing tools, subscription paywalls, and scattered AI prompts just to analyze my competitors and figure out a growth strategy. So I built one open-source workspace that handles the whole chain:

You connect your project or website, and Falbor’s AI agents analyze your position, scan your competitors, run AI-driven AEO audits, and deliver an actionable growth and social media distribution roadmap in real time.

It's free, open source, with no hidden paywalls for self-hosters. One web platform, complete transparency and control.

What it covers today:

  • Autonomous AI Agents: Multi-model intelligence (OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek) working together for deep competitive research and AEO scanning.
  • Competitor & Market Analysis: Real-time data processing to spot untracked growth channels and messaging gaps.
  • Growth & Distribution Roadmap: Step-by-step recommendations on where, when, and how to position your product.
  • Fully Self-Hostable: Built with Next.js, React, TypeScript, Drizzle ORM & PostgreSQL (Neon).
  • Developer-First Setup: Easy local setup with clean environment configuration for your own API keys.

Runs on any modern environment with Node.js / Docker / Vercel.

It's an evolving project, so expect continuous updates. Honest feedback, bug reports, and contributions are very welcome!

Website:https://falbor.xyz

GitHub:https://github.com/falbor-devs/falbor

*Disclosure: Just to be completely transparent with the community – Falbor was built with the assistance of AI tools alongside standard development. I created this to solve a real issue for myself and wanted to share it with fellow developers and founders. If you find it useful, want to give feedback, or wish to contribute/drop a Star, feel free! Always open to constructive criticism and suggestions. :) *

Too big for basic, way too small for pro. cool. mailchimp alternatives for this weird middle?

solo founder. started on the basic tier when the list was tiny and now the welcome plus reengagement stuff i want is bumping into limits. next tier is a price jump a giant pile of features i will not touch with my one human body.

Looking at mailchimp alternatives for that awkward middle. i need a little more than " send newsletter," much less than 'build a customer journey map with 19 conditions." what did you choose when basic stopped fitting but pro was obviously overkill?

Kevick is not Anther AI Wrapper

Post image

Not every app needs another AI wrapper. It needs a way to examine what’s been built.

That’s why I’m building Kevick.

Our engine uses structured checks, evidence collection, and risk analysis to help examine an app’s launch readiness. AI can help you build faster. Kevick helps you look closer at what you’ve built.

Built for vibe coders. Built around evidence.

I’m a founder in real life, so naturally I built a game about startup stress as some kind of ill-advised therapy

Thumbnail founderthegame.com

Apparently my way of relaxing after thinking about runway, hiring, and product decisions is to build something where I can think about runway, hiring, and product decisions.

I’m building FOUNDER, a free browser strategy game inspired by Aerobiz Supersonic on the SNES. You start a company, build your product, recruit a team, raise money, and compete against other startups.

You get three actions per quarter. There are always more than three things that need doing.

That’s probably the most autobiographical part.

I’m a founder in real life, and I wanted to turn some of those tradeoffs into a game: hiring someone you need but can barely afford, deciding whether to keep building or start selling, and figuring out how much ownership you’re willing to give up for more time.

It’s still early, but it’s playable. I built it with AI-assisted coding tools, and the mentor portraits are AI-generated.

If you’d like to spend your downtime running a second, fictional company:

For the other founders here: what’s a painfully familiar startup situation I should put in the game? I’m guessing “a promising customer who keeps asking for one more feature before signing” deserves its own difficulty setting.

I'm a Solo Founder from Kashmir Building My Own Startup. Here's My Journey.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone, I'm Musaib, a solo founder from Kashmir, India.

I'm building MyExpert, a home services platform that connects people with local experts like plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and cleaning professionals.

The idea came from wanting to make it easier for people to find local service providers while helping local professionals get more opportunities.

I've built this with limited resources, and I'm now trying to grow it across Kashmir. The app is live, but getting people to discover and trust a new startup is a whole different challenge.

I'm sharing this here because I know many of you in this community are building your own businesses and understand how difficult the early stages can be.

For fellow solo founders:

How did you get your first real users without a marketing budget?

What worked better for you: content, community building, or direct outreach?

What's one thing you wish you'd known when you started?

I'd genuinely appreciate your advice and feedback. I'm here to learn from other founders, not just promote my startup.

Thanks for reading!

Built an eSIM startup solo, now getting organic sales. Here's what I've learned so far.

I've been working on my own eSIM startup, MeSIM, competing in a pretty crowded market against companies like Airalo, Holafly and Saily.

Rather than trying to compete with their massive marketing budgets, I've focused on building something affordable with a better user experience and a little bit different as it's more of an esim catalogue where users can explore differences between 7000+ plans between different telecom networks.

A few things I've learned so far:

  • SEO takes time, but organic traffic is starting to bring in consistent sales.
  • Pricing competitively seems to be one of the biggest advantages when you're up against established brands.
  • Getting listed on comparison sites can be a useful acquisition channel without spending heavily on ads.
  • Building the product is honestly the easy part. Getting people to discover it is the real challenge.

The site now has over 7,000 eSIM plans covering 200+ destinations, and I've recently started seeing around 5 organic sales a day.

Still very early days, but it's encouraging seeing something I've built actually generate sales without relying entirely on paid advertising.

I'm currently experimenting with SEO, comparison sites and affiliate partnerships to see how far I can take it - I've pretty much figured to grow this thing i have to work on it each day basically getting backlinks, partnerships and affiliates + paid advertising which i haven't had much luck on so far at all.

Would love honest feedback on the website and if anyone has any pointers on getting paid adveritising giving me a good ROI im basically running one Google PMAX campaign thats getting a 13.01% CTR and CPC of 0.02c 10k Clicks - which is getting allot of traffic but seems to not be getting any converions which is weird?

https://mesim.io

Also curious how other solo founders here managed to get from their first few daily sales to something sustainable. What acquisition channels worked best for you?

Are you lock in or socialise ??

Difficult to find my balance, idk if I should lock in sport, stop alcohol, stop love story for a bit and focus focus focus
( my first round of raising : 600k, solo founder, girl ), everyone told me ( perhaps my dad ! ), but have a life go get drunk, nananana but we know drinks affect reflections and cognitive connections
And everyone sucks kinda, don’t understand how much work/ pression/ connections etc

So my question is : are you in isolated mode or socialising? What is the best balance you can suggest ?

Hi guys,

As you can see from the image, I launched my product (which I have been working on for over 7 months on my own) on product hunt and so far it has absolutely flopped. This was something that I had been working extremely hard on and it was a bit saddening to see how the launch went/how it's going. So, I thought I would reach out to the community of hunters and see if you guys can help. It would mean a massive amount if you guys could drop a quick comment and upvote the launch. Lets see if we can get this to the top 10 and beat the large companies on there today.🙏

Could telegram become a real sales channel for online stores?

A lot of businesses already use Telegram to communicate with customers, but selling through a chat is different from giving people an actual place to browse products and shop.

I’ve been looking at this idea through chatnsell, which connects an existing ecommerce store to a Telegram storefront. Customers can browse products inside Telegram, while the merchant keeps their own store and checkout.

What makes the idea interesting is that a business wouldn’t necessarily need to build a separate mobile app just to offer that experience. But it still has to get customers into the Telegram bot and give them a reason to shop there.

For founders building around existing platforms, do you think turning a messaging app into a sales channel solves a real problem for merchants, or does it add another thing they have to manage?

I’ve spent months building Altys solo. Looking for other tech founders in Delhi NCR.

Hey, I’m Shlok. I’ve spent months building Altys, an investment research platform, solo.

A lot of the pain has been figuring out where to start, how to find investors, and who to talk to when I’m stuck. I’ve often wished I had a few other founders to think things through with, or just share a small win with.

That’s why I’m starting Army of One. I’d love to bring together a small group of solo tech founders in Delhi NCR and shape it together.

A few things I’m thinking about: coworking sessions, pickleball followed by coffee, and space to talk honestly about the tougher days. Down the line, maybe useful funding and competitor research too. These are ideas I want to try with people, and I’m open to changing them based on what helps.

Longer term, I’m exploring paid tools or sessions as well, and want to be upfront about that. It’s all very early.

If you’re building a tech startup solo around Delhi, Gurgaon or Noida and this sounds like something you’d want to help shape, you can leave an intro here: https://armyof.one

What are you building, and what would make a group like this worth showing up for?

Social media marketing

Bonjour 👏

I am a social media manager from the oui oui baguette country 🇫🇷

I have had the chance to work with a few companies and agencies on various topics like SEO, ads or social media during the last four years.

I am looking for founders and business owners. I would like to hear about their marketing issues and help them build a strong presence online at a low cost or in exchange of services.

I am building a new international portfolio at the moment. So hit me up!

Solo-founder delegation tip: define the promises your marketing must never make

Delegating marketing should reduce your workload, not give you a second job correcting promises you never approved.

Before handing off outreach, write a short brief with five things:

  • Who matters: a specific buyer and problem, not “anyone running a business.”
  • What is true today: available features, actual prices and setup requirements.
  • What cannot be promised: unfinished features, delivery dates you cannot support, or guaranteed results.
  • What deserves your attention: pricing objections, requests outside your scope, or a correction to your product description.
  • What counts as work: published contributions you can inspect, separately from drafts and research.

For example, a hypothetical scheduling app might target independent tutors while explicitly ruling out claims about school-wide administration. That boundary is more useful than “sound friendly and get leads.”

I run ThreadFox, a hosted AI employee that researches, writes, publishes and follows up on Reddit for businesses. You provide the business brief and give plain-language directions through your workspace; no customer AI subscription, installation or always-on computer is needed. We use an authorized customer account or one we arrange, allocated and verified before work starts. Community rules and truthful affiliation still apply.

Details: https://threadfox.vip/p/dt6wo

What would you put on your own “never promise this” list before delegating outreach?

I’m putting together a small competition for anyone who wants to show off their startup, app, tool, service, etc.

There are 40 submission spots, and submissions close Oct 21 or when 40 fill, whichever comes first. The 5 finalists demo live on a Zoom meeting on Nov 8 at 7 pm ET/4 pm PT. The live event is open to everyone, even if you don’t submit a project.

Judging is done by 3 volunteers who are into business and excited to be doing this. Don’t expect expert critiques.

Prizes: $100 cash to the winner (paid via Venmo or Cash App), plus a Community Choice award voted on live by everyone on the Zoom and a Best Demo award.

Link to the info/rules doc and the form: Submission Form & Info

This is the first time I’m running this, so expect a few rough edges. Comment or send a DM if you have questions.

Paid a developer $300 and he won't reply about a small price change? Here's how to set up a WhatsApp store yourself in a few minutes (Lebanon) NSFW

Thumbnail linkmahal.com
1 Upvotes

A lot of small shops and restaurants in Lebanon pay a web developer a few hundred dollars for a site. Then they wait days for someone to fix one price on the menu.

We made this short video to show the other way. Here's what happens in it, step by step:

  1. Sign up with your name, email and password, then verify your number with a code sent on WhatsApp.

  2. Choose whether you sell food or run a shop, and give it a store name. Your store link is ready right away.

  3. Add your logo and colours, and turn on payments (Whish Pay, OMT or cash on delivery).

  4. Make your first category and add your first product.

  5. Press Publish and the store is live. Orders come straight to your WhatsApp with the items, the total, the location and how the customer is paying.

After that, you change prices and products yourself whenever you like, with no developer and no commission on your sales. You also get coupons, a QR code, analytics, the USD/LBP rate and an Arabic dashboard.

Starter is free for up to 10 products. Pro is $10 a month and Enterprise is $20, and you can try either one for 14 days for $1.

Happy to answer any questions in the comments. If you'd like to try it, it's at https://linkmahal.com
