What are you kids doing in regards of the option of auto heating or continuous heating of the dish? Itâs soon coming to that time of year to choose one here in the Canadas. What do you recommend? Just leave it heating 24-7 or on an as needed basis? TY.

Hi there, i have a rural property using starlink (residential plan unlimited data) and i have a 24/7 4K camera on youtube of a city view that i like to have playing in the BG when i'm working. I have 1 neighbour using starlink about a kilometre away, nothing else around, so very little congestion i'd imagine. maybe 2 others using it within 5-6 KM of me. I'm wondering if i have this running 12 hours a day will i get data capped or throttled? AI says no but thought i'd ask some humans...thanks in advance!

Today I had the installation of my Starlink dish. Technically what the tech did was what I was thinking to do but more than anything I wanted to speak with a tech to hear his opinion of different scenarios. The dish currently is sitting on my rooftop, and a cable goes through the corner, into my window then into my router. More than speed is the stability, jitter between 3-5 with no delay in packets and a super smooth gaming experience. Starlink fixed my biggest issue which was this, and now I can prove that Optimum was the problem when it comes to jitter and packet delay fluctuation.
Now, I have sent an e-mail to my landlord, asking for permission to be able to install my Starlink fixed on top of the staircase roof which nobody seems to and doesnât affect anything. My plan is to call Starlink and have an On-Tech relocate my Dish to the new place if approved. I do hope my landlord allows it as this is my only solution to reliable Internet and it works really well, especially streaming/gaming.
I even offered extra money on top of my rent to allow the Dish on the roof and anything else they will require.

Iâm a boater and I remember the Roam plan being really good. I used to be able to watch/stream movies and TV no problem. Starting 30-60 days ago, it has been garbage. I have to keep turning on Ocean Mode to get a decent movie/TV watching experience. Am I alone here or is everyone seeing this?
Few notes:
Iâm within 12 mi of the coast
Same thing happens when Iâm stationary at the dock
Iâm using all of Starlinkâs equipment (Gen 3 dish and router)
Wifi to phone and laptop both experience same issues.

Starshield was disabled for Ukraine tonight. Ukraine found their drones losing connection to Starlink when they exceeded 100 mp/h, as per the normal civilian Starlink contract.
I've been following the Ukraine war for almost 5 years now. Starlink was one of the few advantages Ukraine had, and I've always seen people grateful for it. It gave a strong signal that was very difficult for Russia to jam. It was only used within the territory of Ukraine itself and it allowed them to defend themselves against their invaders. It helped them intercept the Geran-series of drones that bombard their cities.
Imagine just turning this off without warning.

Looking for a plan to use Starlink as a backup, if I set it to local priority is it ÂŁ20 a month on low speeds but I can then add 50 GB for ÂŁ12.50.
Or is it at least ÂŁ20+ÂŁ12.50 a month.

Eleven of 17 antennas used to communicate with SpaceXâs Starlink satellite network were reportedly deliberately set on fire at a secure facility near Sofia, Bulgaria, according to reports by Bulgarian media.
The incident was initially made public on October 12 by Ivaylo Mirchev, a Bulgarian member of parliament and co-chair of the political party Yes, Bulgaria. According to his statement, two masked individuals carried out the attack.
The damaged equipment is part of the infrastructure used to connect with Starlink satellites, a communications system that also plays an important role in Ukraineâs wartime communications.
### Investigation Underway
On October 14, Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev confirmed that an intensive investigation was underway, with cooperation from partner intelligence services. He declined to disclose further details, citing the risk of compromising the investigation.
Plamen Tonchev, chairman of Bulgariaâs State Agency for National Security (SANS/DANS), said during a parliamentary hearing that future acts of sabotage in Bulgaria could not be ruled out. He also stated that part of the facilityâs perimeter fence had been removed during expansion work, making access easier for the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev announced that additional security measures had been introduced at similar facilities across the country.
### Possible Connection to Other European Incidents?
The incident has drawn attention because a Starlink ground station in Poland was reportedly targeted by arson in late September. Polish authorities have linked that case to suspected Russian-organized sabotage, and two Turkish nationals were arrested in Germany in connection with the Polish investigation.
However, **no publicly confirmed evidence currently establishes a connection between the Bulgarian incident and the attack in Poland**, and Bulgarian authorities have not publicly identified the perpetrators or confirmed their motive.
The investigation in Bulgaria remains ongoing.

I use the starlink router and I see where lots of people are saying that it's not good. So my question is this. Would it be better to run pass-through mode with a peplink BR1 pro 5g, Or keep the original. I play games like rust and my wife watches TV (streaming like Hulu, Netflix, etc.) The reason I already have one is we full time in an RV and were using the Hotspot capabilities of this unit before we switched to starlink. We had problems doing more than one thing at a time.

It is from Mini. I believe almost no one else uses Starlink within a 20 km radius of me. Also, the obstructions are almost none (0% obstruction time and a few red dots). This might be Starlink's wet dream :)

OlĂĄ, pessoal!
JĂĄ comprei a Starlink residencial e gostaria de saber sobre a experiĂȘncia de vocĂȘs com jogos online no PC gamer.
O ping (latĂȘncia) Ă© estĂĄvel durante as partidas?
Obrigado!

I've had my dish since 2022 with no issues. It's still operating perfectly fine. I'm just wondering for the future once I need a replacement. Is it an easy process? Thanks!

I'd appreciate being pointed in the direction of a Starlink cellular sub, if there is one, please.

My dish started making a high pitched beep beep eee ee sort of noise.
All cables are plugged in correctly.
Any ideas what it is ? What to do? Will customer service be any use if required?

My ipv6 address has changed 3 times today, without Dishy or the router restarting.
I thought it was supposed to be stable unless my POP changed or something.

A family members starlink router died. Originally they were told replacement would come within the week - we're now in the third week of waiting.
I tried setting up my asus ac1900 router but haven't gotten it to work. Since the starlink router died, we weren't able to go into the settings to enable bypass mode.
I've connected the cable to the blue ethernet connector but in the Asus settings it says 'Your ISP's DHCP does not function properly.'
I've done a hard reset and it still doesn't work. Before I try looking into it any further I just want to ask if anyone can tell me if this is an issue on the starlink end or if i need to look into the router settings to resolve this?

Moving into new house (single story) in western WI and debating between the pivot or wall mount.
Router would be going in the adjacent room on the north side of the house.
TIA

My Starlink in northern Michigan has been extremely glitchy these past few days, with Teams video and plain audio calls glitching constantly. It has only rarely done that before, but has been frequent and grouped just in these past few days.
