Staccato P - Standard vs. Threaded Barrel / X-Series?

I’ve finally narrowed my first 2011 down to the Staccato P, but I’m torn between a few configurations.

Aside from the obvious differences in length and holster compatibility, is there any real advantage to the standard barrel over the 5” threaded option? Also curious about the X-Series slide versus the standard slide.

I tend to buy guns with duty/home defense in mind. Reliability is always my biggest priority. I shoot quite a bit, but I don’t compete, and I probably won’t be carrying this one.

For those who’ve spent time with these, which configuration would you go with and why?

XC - CPO

Anybody seen the XC come into stock for the certified pre-owned recently?

I have been stalking the page every Wednesday, and I'm just not sure if I'm too late or if I just keep missing it ?

Also what qualities have you seen available for the XC?

For the other models , all I ever see is like New.

A fair condition model, for like $2800 seems like a steal.

I missed a XC for $3000 off tacswap, and I am so mad about that.

Any of you Goons have one.. That you’d part with??! I’ve got cash or multiple higher end trade options, most of which would require cash to be added on your end tho!

Frame Change?

I keep seeing stuff about the Mec-Gar mags and a frame change on the full size guns. Is there anything too this? I know my mags from my older XC and P fit and function fine in my new XC that was made this year.

HD mag extensions

I just bought a used HD4.5 with 4 magazines with Springer Precision +5 baseplates and MBX Spring and Follower. I’m wanting to convert one of them to maintain the slide lock on empty. Can I put the 18 round spring and follower in with the extension baseplates or does it require a different spring and follower?

The tubes are the metal Mec-gars that come with the gun.

New Staccato 4.5 HD

My Staccato P4.5 HD is coming along nicely. So far I’ve added a Trijicon SRO, extended mag release, competition magwell, and extended base pads. Next up is the Infinity trigger system.

Finally got some range time with it, and I couldn’t be happier with how it shoots. Still a few things to dial in, but this will be my main USPSA Limited Optics gun.

Check out the video I made, it was in its stock form!

HD4.5 Optic plate

I’m in the process of buying a used hd p4.5 and he said it comes with an RMR optic plate. He had an SRO mounted in it but he is keeping the optic. My plan was to buy an RMR HD but now I see that there’s a specific plate for SRO/RMR HD? What’s the difference? Why was he able to mount an SRO with just the RMR plate?

Acro plate

Looking for a mount to put my acro on my XC. The Dawson mount sits so high, is there a little lower mount or should I just go with the Dawson?

Holster recommendation for a C2?

What holster do you guys recommend for the C2? Will have the Tlr7-hlx and EPS Carry on it too. Plus the c2 has a threaded barrel.

New pick up.

Picked up the hd 4.5 yesterday and I’m so excited to get it the range. Got screwed on the grip. Had the handle-it grip tape and I didn’t take it off until I got home. It’s all good though. Lesson learned the hard way. Also throwing a RMR HD on it pretty soon.

Does the C2 always come DPO cut from Staccato’s website?

Hello all,

I’m about to place an order for a C2, but I can’t find information if this comes DPO cut already. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks!

Worth getting a P if I own a C2?

I’ve been considering a P lately. Longer barrel, larger grip, aesthetically beautiful, overall I think they’re perfect.

I absolutely love my C2. I however find myself favoring the P model when I hold or shoot them. Is there any beneficial value of upgrading to the P over a C2?

Staccato Advice

I currently own the CS ‘24 and the HD P4.5. I love the CS but I wish the mag was flush to help with concealment. I’m intrigued by the C4X, I like the smaller grip and that the mag is flush. My local dealer is giving me a nice deal as well and I can trade in my CS.

My question is, does it make sense to grab the C4X since I already have the 4.5? Or should I be considering the 3.6 instead?

Thank you!

Anyone with a ported XC that can weigh in on the before & after differences? As a range toy and nothing else - is it worth it? Thoughts?

*C4X. Sorry brain fart.

Was looking to get one of these eventually as a EDC since I already have the P and XC. Found a good deal on this preferred package on Gunbroker so had to pick it up.

Talk me into a bad idea

I’m thinking about selling what I have to upgrade to the HD P4.5. I’ve shot about 30 rounds through it and like it but of course it’s hard to tell. This would be my first 2011 and on paper it seems to be what I would want for a do it all kind of gun. I’d carry it in the winter, shoot some informal competitions with it and train with it.

Probably the hardest part would be losing my Shadow 2 but at this point it’s the only way I could justify buying. I’d be interested in some encouragement to get off high center!
