Discussion Why no Spawn animation?

One would think with all the “adult animation” around someone would be all over Spawn. What’s the main cause of that? Is it creative rights or is the IP that hard to adapt? What are y’all opinion?

Edit-NOT including the late 90s animation.

Studios have wanted to adapt spawn. Todd is just highly protective and wants direct control of the projects and studios just want to use their own ppl thet are an impasse

Todd. He's the entire reason the IP has been pushed to the fringes of relevance.

I’m assuming it’s just no interest from Todd and studios not have interest in the ip. Last time spawn was in the mainstream was mk11 dlc and that was over 6 years ago

Todd doesn't play well with others when it comes to his baby

I assume no studio wants it. Back when Spawn the Animated Series came out on HBO. It seemed like there was a show for a comic character. Wildcats, Savage Dragon, The Maxx etc so studios back then felt the need to keep up with the Jones’. But if you even look NOW with good successful shows like Blue Eyed Samurai and Invincible, theres not been a deluge of animated shows from studios even just one geared towards a mature audience. Everyone wants a sure thing. Im not even gonna get into a potential studios nightmare scenario of dealing with the creative control Todd would want. Its why we don’t have a Spawn live action movie.
