📢 Discussion The fun facts and randomness in soundtracks.
Ok so this might not sound as clear for a topic but let me give you two examples to start the discussion.
The Stand ( 1994 ) and Fallout 2.
As a kid i had the "pleasure" see this 6 hour long horror from Stephen King, now there is a song composed by W.G.Snuffy Walden ( what a name ) called Project blue, this song is used for two things, scenes including the virus that ravages the US and Randall Flagg who is the main villain. Now back then no soundtrack existed and internet didnt either really, so it was me remembering this tune for a very long time just from my memory. Not that long ago i did get an very old PC and my first copy of game called Fallout 2, so imagine my surprise when im going through the game and suddenly out of nowhere that guitar riff of Project blue starts to play. Now take in mind i only had that in my memory so i was like, why is this familiar... Yet again no soundtracks. And internet....existed in a way. So after many years, i eventually got both soundtracks when they were available and i forgot about it, ive listened to both and i go once more like waiiiiit a second. So apparantly Mark Morgan sampled Project blue for Fallout 2 and named it Gold slouch, gave it a bit different sound, not only that there is much more songs that sounds like different tracks from different soundtracks, i dont know them so i wouldnt know. The fun part about this is really that The stand isnt some popular movie of all time, you can understand when somebody uses Jaws theme for comedies to spoof something or things like that, but not small tv score like this. Well the explonation for it is simple, Walden and Morgan played together in Chaka Khans band, after that Walden wanted Morgan for keyboards on his TV projects so...Morgan knew the song and somehow he just wanted to use it himself as well.
My point is, imagine remembering something so long you recognize the connection without any confirmation at that time, i thought i went insane.
The walking dead franchise and Sunshine.
This might sound as a very strange connection, its a bit different this time since its more of a coincidence then anything official like with The stand.
In the first season of The walking dead, last episode used a song from movie Sunshine by John Murphy called Sunshine ( Adagio in D minor ), I always thought this is very strange choice, not only for the fact that Bear McCreary is really good for making emotional themes himself, but also that this song is very much tied to the moment in Sunshine for me. So after watching TWD i started Fear the walking dead and right in first episode i go huh? One of the main character called Travis is played by actor Cliff Curtis, now why is that interesting? Curtis acted as Searle a psychologist in Sunshine and the mentioned song includes him heavily, its him who asks the question "What do you see" when the captain is outside of the ship facing death by solar wave, this scene is iconic. So the randomness of the song being used in same universe where Cliff exists is just way to fun not to see, even if in spin off, doesnt matter, the circle is now complete.
So given the context, what are the songs that you know that have some interesting fun facts or random connections?

📢 Discussion Soundtracks inspired by other soundtracks
I just listened to And Just Like That and it really reminded me of Xibalba and others from Clint Mansell. Xibalba is more solemn and depressing, but pretty unique. That whole OST of 'The Fountain' is. And that's my favorite movie ever. I haven't watched 'A Single Man' yet, but I now will.
02:09 sounds a lot like 01:59 and 03:07 sounds a lot like 03:19. There's probably other similarities elsewhere.
What do you think, do you find the similarities like I do? Personally, I love it when I notice this happening.
Do you have any examples like that?

🔍 Help Me Find Need help finding a piece based on tune; similar to Batman: TAS or Joe Hisashi's ghibli score
I'm trying to identify a piece of music with a bombastic, moody, and cinematic sound. It has a dramatic, almost ominous quality, reminiscent of the score to Fritz Lang's Metropolis or the music of a classic film noir or horror movie. The melody feels grand, suspenseful, and somewhat foreboding.
I've already combed through Shirley Walker's scores for Batman: The Animated Series and Joe Hisaishi's scores for Studio Ghibli films, thinking it might have come from one of those, but so far I've had no luck.
I've attached a recording of myself humming the melody in the hope that someone might recognize it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

🎶 Derivative Music 🎶 Trick ‘r Treat (2007) Soundtrack Suite | Douglas Pipes
In celebration of the spooky season, here’s a soundtrack suite I put together from Douglas Pipes’ score to the 2007 film “Trick ‘r Treat”! 🎃
I think the score to this movie is really great. It’s creepy, whimsical, and could be said as a sort of hybrid between Carpenter’s “Halloween” and Beltrami’s “Scream”, while still carving its own identity. Pipes makes use of the recognizable jingle to the age-old rhyme, “Trick or treat, trick or treat, give me something good to eat”, incorporating it into the very fabric of the score.
Recorded with a 65-piece orchestra and a children’s choir, this one is perfect for Halloween. An underrated score, to an underrated movie! 🎃👻
Music by: Douglas Pipes
Performed by: The Hollywood Studio Symphony

🎶 Derivative Music 🎶 "Veruca Salt" by Danny Elfman for Concert Band - arrangement by 13yo

This is part of a medley of pieces/songs from the 2005 film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I am 13 years old and have been making a ton of arrangements for a little under a year, and I've been learning quickly. What do you think?
PS the reason it stops so abruptly is because of a transition into the next song in the medley, which is "Mike Teavee"

📢 Discussion This is the soundtrack from popular Czech soap opera, supposedly "composed by Petr Malásek"
I don't usually watch TV so I have no idea how often this happens. The show titles don't mention other composers or other sources of music.
