Here is my grandpas 2007 Softail Fatboy, he purchased it brand new in 07 and it has remained in the family since even after he passed.

Been an awesome bike, very well maintained by my grandpa over the years and anything other than that (such as exhaust, tuner, etc.) has been done at Harley Dealerships.

-Vance & Hines Short shots w/ Vance & Hines tuner installed under the seat by Harley
-Saddleman diamond stitched brown seat
-10” miniature ape hangers
-Tons of Harley chrome covers all over
-Has a HD Fob for starting, has a key to lock ignition and the forks

*Will come with Saddlebags, detachable windshield, 2 extra seats, and a sissy rack/rider backrest.

Asking $6,000 OBO Shoot me an offer. I am located in Oklahoma.

Only trades considered would be a dyna, fxr, 2007 baggers not much else.

Softail vibration help

2017 Softail Slim 103 twincam vibration issue.
I’m sharing this for input and also just to share  info that might be helpful to others.
Milage 12k
I bought this bike new from dealership. I have had no issue with the bike. I haven’t put many miles on it because I have other bikes and switch up a bit.
The rear tire needed to be replaced so I pulled it and took it for replace ( local Cyclegear ) I also got some new front and rear brake pads to install while I was working on it. I installed the new pads and rear wheel. I have the tools to check drive belt tension and rear axle alignment. All checks good. I took the bike for a test ride and I immediately noticed vibration under acceleration and at highway speeds. This was not here before the new tire. I immediately pulled the wheel and has cyclegear rebalance the wheel. It was slightly off so I has hopeful but no improvement after the additional balance. The front tire also needed replacement so I did that too. Vibration remained. I checked the following:
Drive belt tension
Rear axle alignment
All torques
All checked out ok. I still had vibration that can be felt in handlebars and floorboards. It may be in my mind but I think it increases after the engine gets up to high temperature.
Next item: I put the bike in neutral and revved the engine. The vibration is there so I started attacking other items. I replaced sparkplugs thinking maybe it was firing perfectly. NO improvement.
I pulled primary cover and thought maybe I would seem an issue there. The nut was not loose and everything looked brand new. I pried a bit on the compensator and there was no movement. I didn’t check the nut torque because I don’t have the correct socket. I did try to move it with a huge pair of channel lock pliers ( I realize I can’t get much torque with those ) but it seems tight. Things “ looked “ ok. No metal shavings in primary oil. No indication that there was an issue.
My next thought was maybe the exhaust was binding for some reason. I removed the slip ons and did a test ride. No improvement, vibration still there. I have also replaced the riser bushings with new OEM rubber bushings. The ones I removed had not hardened. No improvement with that either.
Next plan is to pull primary cover again and check the compensator nut torque and also check the chain tension again. I’m thinking maybe the chain is actually too tight. I didn’t do a thorough check last time. I just couldn’t get my head around a bike with 12k easy miles having an issue like that. But there is certainly something that has change. This vibration just started. It is very annoying especially on the throttle hand. For reference I’ve been riding and working on Harelys since the 90s. I’ve owned ironheads ,shovelheads, evos and build a rigid chopper using a Buell engine. I’ve done lots of maintenance and upgrade work in the past. This is however the first twin cam I’ve been exposed to. I was thinking that I did something when I changed the tires and brake pads but as I said there is significate vibration in neutral also. I plan to pull primary again this weekend. I would like to hear your ideas and recommendations. I may be entirely off base but I’m so confused LOL.

New to me, need advice.

ust got this. 2014 harley breakout 103 in hard candy chrome flake. Need advice about the handles and cluster, they are all factory at the moment. I like a relaxed upright posture with hand placement a little lower than straight out. Can't find any risers to fit factory gauges, but need like 8-10 inch riser extensions to put the handles where I want them and but only risers matching factory 1- 3/4 diameter are 2" max. Going low riser with apes again won't work with factory gauge cluster because options don't exist due to clearance issues with tank. Would mini apes on this 4" factory riser look horrible? Any ideas or advice would be appreciated.

Im doing some work on this 99' that I inherited. The lenses on this assembly are starting to separate, and I would like to go with the tombstone style. Any of the lights ive seen online are led. Do I need to do anything to run the leds or just wire them up?

Hose going to nowhere

I got a 2011 CVO Softail and giving it a wash but noticed this hose going to nowhere when I was wiping it down. Was wondering if this a relief valve or maybe to something more important. Maybe to drain oil? Asking because this is my first softail. Thx

23 FXST fairing upgrade or exhaust

Cheap eBay fairing rattles a bit, looking at the Viking bags fairing but hard to justify the cost when this was $60 and looks pretty good (IMO), should I just get louder exhaust to drown out the rattle? What do yall recommend?

Fork tubes

Alright gents I have a 2006 Softail standard. I want to put on extended forks but I’m having trouble with labeled compatibility. Everything I’ve read tells me any 41mm Harley fork tubes should work, but the “fitment” charts on websites say otherwise. Only a couple sites have extended forks that “fit” a 2006, but they’re way more expensive than like lowbrow or TC bros regular 41mm that supposedly don’t fit a 2006. Should they work? Or do I need to buy the specific ones? Thanks

Love the brand. Hate the dealerships.

I've been looking for a winter project bike to occupy my time during the too cold to ride months here in Ohio. Nothing too crazy. more tinkering and restoration Just something to keep me in the garage and off of the couch. I've kinda set my mind on a Night Train. I have always liked the look and, I haven't owned a Softail since 1991. Anyway, been looking on line for a few months and I found one that looked like a good prospect at a non-Harley Davidson dealer about an hour north for $6500. went and looked at it, rode it around a bit and it is in very good condition. Offer made, counter offer etc... While that was going on, I found one at my local Harley dealer so I went over and took a look just in case. This is a large, high volume, corporate dealership. Found the bike. It's two years older than the first one I found. Looked it over. What a mess. It looked like it lived its entire existence outdoors or in the horse barn. Paint faded and scratched up. Rust and oxidization all over the engine and the pipes. If I owned that dealership, I wouldn't even put that on the floor. And their starting price was $11,000. That's about $4000 less than what it cost brand new, 22 years ago. Guy offered me a "killer" deal. He would bring it down to $9,000 (+tax, title, Harley tax and destination fees). According to him, Night Trains are super rare and hard to find... Anyway, I got the first one I looked at for $6,300 cash. Tax & title included. I don't know if its corporate or dealership greed, but the motor co. is pricing itself out of business. OK. Rant over. I feel much better now. lmao

Put a set of lower fairings on my 24 Low Rider ST. So far I’m really liking them. Can’t decide if I like the look of the low stock windshield now, my 10” Klock Werks windshield, or if I should split the difference and get the 8” Klock Werks.

I am considering new rims for my 2020 Slim. What do you think? Original, thick black or thick chrome? Other suggestions are welcome. I kind of like the thick chrome, but it may be a bit much.

Hi folks, I’ve got a 2007 Softail that’s covered in wrinkle black & matt black paint/powder-coating. I don’t like having her cleaned or detailed by others caz I’m very protective and careful with her, that’s why she’s in peak condition and hasn’t given me any issues over the years.

I’m looking for advise and suggestions on:
(1) homemade degreaser
(2) something to bring the wrinkle black back to life. I know there’s products out there that do this but I don’t have access to US products either ca it’s costly or not brought in (I’m europe based). The local HD dealer doesn’t sell the engine black spray either caz they make you bring your bike in instead sell it so you can do it at home.

I’ve seen online people using water+dish soap+baking soda OR water+dish soap+vinegar mixtures for degreasing, and I was wondering what people’s experience has been with these? Also what can bring the wrinkle black back to life.

Thanks in advance, ride safe everyone 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
