THE NIGHT THE DARKNESS SWALLOWED OUR STREET

A Terrifying Unexplained Encounter in Kennewick, Washington

Date of Incident: March 16, 2021

Location: Anderson Street, Kennewick, Washington

Witnesses: Two eyewitnesses

Evidence: Security camera screenshots from one of two separate surveillance systems

On the night of March 16, 2021, on Anderson Street in Kennewick, Washington, we experienced something so deeply disturbing and terrifying that, even years later, neither of us has been able to explain what we witnessed.

What began as an ordinary evening quickly turned into something that felt like it belonged in a nightmare.

It started when our home security system began triggering multiple motion detection alarms.

Naturally, we checked the security cameras, expecting to see someone walking through our yard, an animal passing by, or perhaps a vehicle moving along the street.

But what appeared on our cameras was something neither of us was prepared to see.

The darkness itself appeared to be moving.

At first, we noticed that the area farther out from our house was becoming unusually dark. But as we continued watching, something even stranger began happening.

The darkness appeared to be slowly advancing across our front yard, creeping toward our home.

And this wasn't ordinary darkness.

It didn't look like a passing shadow or simply an area without adequate lighting.

It looked as though something was actually sucking the light out of everything it touched.

The best way I can describe it is to imagine an enormous, invisible blanket of thick black ink slowly being dragged across an entire neighborhood.

Everything behind it became almost impossible to see.

The lights across the street disappeared into the blackness. Our neighbors' house, which was normally clearly visible from our security cameras, became nearly impossible to distinguish.

Even our white van, parked directly outside our home, began disappearing into the darkness. Portions of the vehicle that should have remained visible seemed to vanish into the black.

It was as though the world beyond this advancing darkness was slowly being erased.

But what makes this experience especially disturbing is that we weren't witnessing it through just one security camera.

We had two completely separate security camera systems positioned at different angles around our property.

Both systems captured the same strange phenomenon.

Unfortunately, I no longer have the footage from the second camera system, but we watched it happening on both systems that night.

And then there was something even more unsettling.

We could see it with our own eyes.

We went to the windows of our home and looked outside.

What we witnessed through the glass was the same thing our cameras were capturing.

The darkness seemed to be spreading across the property, swallowing the visibility of everything behind it as it moved closer and closer to our house.

The atmosphere was unlike anything I had ever experienced.

There was a strange heaviness to everything.

The air felt thick, oppressive, and deeply unsettling. There was an overwhelming feeling of dread that I still remember to this day.

We were both frightened.

We stood watching something unfold in front of our home that neither of us could begin to understand.

And the darkness kept coming.

Slowly.

Steadily.

Closer and closer.

It was almost as though the night itself was closing in around our house.

Then, just as the darkness appeared to be nearing our home, something happened that made the entire experience even more terrifying.

A tall, shadowy figure suddenly came flying down the sidewalk directly in front of our house.

The figure moved with incredible speed.

And at approximately the same time, we heard something that sent fear through both of us.

A deep, disturbing growl.

Then, almost immediately—

The darkness vanished.

Not gradually.

Not slowly fading away the way it had appeared to arrive.

It was simply gone.

The lights across the street were visible again.

The neighboring house reappeared.

The street, the yard, and the surroundings that had been swallowed by blackness were suddenly visible once more.

It was as though someone had pulled an enormous black curtain away from the neighborhood in a single instant.

Everything appeared normal again.

But nothing about what we had just experienced felt normal.

We were left frightened, confused, and struggling to make sense of what we had witnessed.

What caused the darkness?

Why did it appear to move toward our house?

How could the same strange phenomenon appear on two separate camera systems while also being visible through our windows?

And what was that tall, shadowy figure that moved so quickly down the sidewalk just before we heard the growl and the darkness disappeared?

To this day, we have no answers.

ABOUT THE ATTACHED PHOTOGRAPHS

I am including several images to help demonstrate what we witnessed that night.

The first photograph is a comparison image taken on July 20, 2021. It was captured by the exact same security camera, from the same position, on a different night.

In this image, you can clearly see our front yard, the white van, the street, the neighboring houses, and the surrounding lights.

It demonstrates the normal nighttime visibility from that camera.

The remaining screenshots were captured on March 16, 2021, during the unexplained incident.

In those images, the difference is dramatic.

Areas that should ordinarily have been visible are almost completely consumed by darkness.

The neighboring homes and distant lights become difficult or impossible to distinguish, and portions of our white van seem to disappear into the blackness.

The security footage also shows how the visibility changed throughout the incident.

These images are not from different cameras or different camera positions. They show the same view from the same security system.

Although I no longer possess the recordings from our second surveillance system, both systems showed the phenomenon that night.

And most importantly, there were two of us who witnessed it happening firsthand.

FIVE YEARS LATER, I STILL CANNOT EXPLAIN IT

I am submitting this experience because I would genuinely like to know whether anyone else has witnessed something similar.

I am not claiming to know what caused it, what the shadowy figure was, or whether there was any paranormal explanation.

I can only describe what we experienced.

And what we experienced was terrifying.

Even now, I can remember the feeling of standing inside our home, watching the familiar world outside seemingly disappear beneath a slowly advancing blanket of darkness.

I remember how heavy and oppressive everything felt.

I remember the fear.

I remember that tall shadowy figure moving down the sidewalk.

And I remember the deep growl that came just before the darkness vanished and the neighborhood became visible again.

Whatever happened on Anderson Street that night, it left an impression on both of us that has never faded.

Because the most frightening part wasn't simply that our street became dark.

It was watching that darkness appear to move toward us, slowly swallowing everything we could see.

And then, just before it reached our home, something moved through it.

We heard a growl.

And the darkness was gone.

March 16, 2021 — Anderson Street, Kennewick, Washington.

An experience we have never forgotten. And one we still cannot explain.

I taped some lenses together with nothing in between, and I keep seeing heads at certain angles

These pics were taken a couple years ago. Did not discover this until after reviewing them much later. I can't say it's a spirit or shadow person. What I do know is I was taking photos of the windows because of the beautiful stained glass. I would not have taken a Pic if someone was in my shot. Notice the windows in perfect focus but the figure is completely void of all light. Shouldn't there be at least a blur of some colors or flesh tones if it were a human being?

Something chilling appeared in the window during my paranormal investigation at Croxteth Lodge, Liverpool.
While reviewing the raw thermal imaging footage, a mysterious figure resembling a woman in white with long, dark hair appears to be floating in the window. 🏚️🌫️
She wasn’t something I expected to see, and the footage has left me with some serious questions.

No alien abduction story is real. That simple. Every time you look into alien abduction stories and abductions, there’s always massive red flags like the military taking the Varginha (in Brazil) alien to a public hospital. The military aren’t gonna take an alien to a public hospital where 1000s of people could witness it if they are trying to cover it up. What you’ll notice is there’s always a book, and that’s how you know it’s all a bunch of bs.

The fact they are profiting off of it destroys any credibility. People who have genuine creepy/ weird experiences don’t tell anyone, and they certainly don’t tell the media bc they know they won’t be believed and that they will be ridiculed for the rest of their lives. It’s like how genuine victims of abuse don’t tell anyone out of fear.

Another red flag is how the fact that they were abducted in the first place. Like they are special. Why not abduct someone else? Typical human ego. Also a lot of the time, the so called aliens start going on to the abductees about how we’re destroying our planet. Theres the politics, so we know the story is just made up rubbish to push a political agenda.

Then there’s the fact that 99% of the abduction stories always lift a bunch of science fiction tropes in them like time travel, missing time and the idea of different dimensions and sometimes literal paragraphs of the stories are taken from prominent scientists fiction books and shows.

Also there’s no logical reason why aliens would come to earth anyway since in order to be ape to travel such vast distances of space, they’d need to be astronomically intelligent and therefore wouldn’t need resources or anything else form us nor would they need to go near us. I could go on but it would take aeons. The point is, theres literally no reason to believe any alien abduction/ encounter stories.

The Annabelle doll, the most haunted doll in existence….isn’t haunted. Shocker I know. First of all, the warrens were the ones who reported on it two that should be enough for anyone to know it’s bs because anyone with half a brain knows the warrens were frauds and full of rubbish. I mean they wrote a book about it and made loads of money from it. That’s proof enough that it’s fake because if it was real, they wouldn’t try to profit off of it. And also if it was so badly haunted, why didn’t they just burn the doll? Rather convenient that they didn’t, don’t you think? Second of all, there’s no evidence of a girl called Annabelle Higgins dying in the area where the 2 nurses and the boyfriend were living at the time and how in the blue flaming hell could a ghost possess a bit of frantic? Why didn’t the alleged ghost just posses any of the people it came into contact in? Again, VERY CONVENIENT!
Also, how the hell could a glass cabinet keep a ghost inside when ghosts can go through solid stone? So they can’t go through glass but they can go through solid walls and human skin? Makes no sense. The case isn’t helped by the fact that none of the deaths this doll has supposedly caused happen. For example the biker dude who mocked the doll and then supposedly crashed and died on his way home, but his girlfriend somehow survived. Since when did demons allow people to survive? They’re demons not angels.
So my question is, how do people still believe that the doll is haunted? Why are people so gullible?

Freeze it at 33:29. Is that a woman on the far right with a device migrating from her left side to her chest or her left hand, and blindfolded with a beanie? In certain frames there is another face coming out of her like another person stepping out of her. Use window key and the + key to bring up windows magnifier on her. Windows key and Esc key to close the magnifier.
