Solo traveler looking for recommendations
Hello all,
I’m a Canadian (m31) traveling through the Balkans and I’m currently staying in Skopje. I recently finished two masters degrees and I’m traveling around. I’m trying to make some friends while I’m here and I was wondering if people ever get together from here? I’d love to eat some good food. Feel free to reach out. I’m not sure if this is strange or not, but I figured I’d give it a shot.

Looking for my Family
My father somehow ended up in Germany and had a kid with a Polish woman. That kid is me.
He was born in BLACE and I was told that the family moved or lived in Skopje. My mother told me that we visited them when I was about one year old. I have to move to my grandparents to Poland. They divorced after that. I never had contakt to my father I can't find him, my mother don't talked about them and we don't talk to eachother. I was born in 1989, my father In 1965 and my mother 1969. His surname ist Bajram.
I don't now for what i am hoping but i'm looking for answers and the truth. Maybe someone knows something or someone.....

Anyone in Skopje have a Nintendo Switch RCM jig? / Дали некој во Скопје има RCM jig?
English:
Hey everyone! I’m currently in Skopje and looking to borrow an RCM jig for an original Nintendo Switch V1 (unpatched).
I literally only need it once to enter RCM mode, so borrowing one for a couple of minutes would be perfect.
I’m staying near Aerodrom, but I’m happy to travel anywhere within Skopje.
Does anyone have one, or know a shop/person in Skopje who could help?
Happy to pay a small amount for the help. Thanks!
Македонски:
Здраво на сите! Моментално сум во Скопје и барам RCM jig за оригинален Nintendo Switch V1 (unpatched).

5 guys (late 20s) in Skopje from Thursday to Sunday: any out of the box tips?
Hey everyone!
We're five guys in our late 20s spending this Thursday to Sunday in Skopje. We've already read through quite a few travel guides and we're staying in Debar Maalo.
We'd love to do more than just the standard tourist stuff and are looking for something a bit more exciting or unexpected. Going out to a club (heard of the fire incident) is definitely on the list as well.
Do you have any out of the box advice or tips for a weekend in Skopje? Local favorites, hidden gems, bars, clubs, food spots, short trips outside the city, anything goes.
We're really looking forward to getting to know your capital. Thanks a lot in advance!

Unexpected things to do in Skopje
I have the responsibility to arrange a day in Skopje for a group of guys in two weeks. We are in the city for a weekend, and have already decided that Saturday is spent on a local Handballmatch plus some beers and rakija. But Friday is wide open, and we are curious if there are some local recommendations of things/sightings/experiences that we have to be aware of, to get the full North Macedonian/Skopje experience?

Party / clubs this weekend?
Hi everyone!
We're a group of friends spending the weekend in Skopje and we're looking for a good party.
We've heard that most clubs have closed after the tragic nightclub fire, but that there are apparently some more unofficial events going on instead.
Does anyone know of any clubs, parties or events worth checking out this Friday, October 2, or Saturday, October 3? We're open to pretty much anything – underground events or local tips we'd never find on our own.
Any recommendations on where to go and what time things actually get going would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Vegan or Vegetarian restaurants in Skopje
I'll be in Skopje next week, and was wondering if anyone can recommend a place to get a nice vegetarian (or ideally: vegan) breakfast or dinner?
I'm hoping to find a place that serves local or regional dishes, I am very much looking forward to trying the Macedonian cuisine!

Cat sanctuary??
I’m here on holiday, and this little kitten has basically been with me fir the past 5hours. I know here are lots of stray cats but i refuse to leave this little angel in the street. Can anybody help maybe here’s a cat sanctuary in the city or a loving home for it?
Don’t come at me with the argument that here’s a lot of stray cats, im fully aware of it. I just want a loving home for this baby :))
Thanks!!

Faced Racism on the first day
Indian Tourist here. This random guy was walking past me near Kam supermarket near the Square a tourist place. This guy first asked me If I had an Audi then asked me if I had a car? When I said no I'm a tourist he goes and asks from which country? I replied back India and politely started going away then this guy starts shouting I hate you and ask you know why because something related to Israel he was saying... I left but this honestly left a very bad impression on me.

Taxi and taximeter
So, during my last visit to Skopje, I ordered a taxi from the airport with wizi. The agreed price was 1,200 denars, but during the ride, the taximeter showed 800 denars.
When I took a taxi from the street to Dolna Matka or Sredno Vodno, the drivers enabled the taximeter, and I paid the amount shown on it.
However, for the ride to airport, several taxi drivers I asked refused to use the taximeter and asked for €25 instead.
With the last driver, I negotiated the airport ride down to €20.
I understand that there is special airport taxi, where fixed price is 25 euro. But I don't understand why regular taxi refuses to use taximeter and why taximeter was used during ride from airport with wizi.
