Seriously. Lots of salty comments. It’s a funny joke if you can laugh at yourself. There may be some truth to it too. We’ve got so many cultures and languages here we may have made our vernacular more specific to ensure clarity. Like to me pavement and sidewalk are two different things.

Edit: some folks below are salty lol

I'm not butthurt at all, but that definitely just wasn't funny

I always lol when Aussies and Brits do a good American accent. Jim Jeffries American accent in particular.

Same. Expand that to anyone outside US. Like seeing a guy switch from Chinese to a thick Texas accent.

People can find it unfunny without being ‘butthurt’. It was a decent premise for a joke, he just picked poor examples that aren’t actually used.

When you quoting “butthurt” as if I used that term?

But it's not about being able to laugh at yourself, the things he's saying are just stupid. It's not even comedy.

Like, the "bin" vs "wastepaper basket" thing: People might not realize this, but those things don't just spring into existence in the vicinity of desks being erected. You have to go to the home goods store and buy one. How do you tell someone what you need? If you just say "Get a garbage can (or "bin")." and your hubby comes back with a tall kitchen can, one won't be too pleased. But tell them to get a wastepaper basket, and oh look at that they know what kind of trash can to get. And that's the very situational example of when one would have to call it that.

Horse riding vs horseback riding. Hitching up horses to a carriage or buggy or wagon and being pulled is still "riding horses". If you're going to be sitting directly on the horse's back, then it's horseback riding. Of course, a fop like him would only associate horse riding with equestrianism and playing polo and not any old-fashioned blue collar meanings so there's your disconnect.

Oh and eyeglasses. As opposed to drinking glasses. There, done.

The problem is that it has the same comedic legs holding it up as a rant about how short basketball players are. It's just not going to land.

That’s a lot of words to say “yeah I can’t take joke” lol

Sweetheart, it's not really a joke though. A toaster that doesn't heat bread isn't really a toaster, it's a paperweight. Do you understand what I'm saying?

I understand you don’t find this joke funny and are also pretty unfunny yourself. lol

I just don't know how to explain it to you that it's not being offended or unable to laugh at oneself, it's just poorly thought out and doesn't fulfill that "Oh, haha yeah never thought of that!" aspect of clever observational humor.

Like I feel like you're the same brand of person as those that when you say Dane Cook isn't funny just retort with "You're just jealous that he's successful and rich, admit it."

I feel like you’re the same brand of person that creates strawmen to win arguments with theirselves. It’s clear. You don’t like the joke and are taking this very seriously. Noted. lol

Yeah, see, you don't understand what a straw man is. Got it, you lack comprehension so trying to explain things to you is useless. I won't even bother anymore, then.

Definitely a guy with a good sense of humor. Lol
