This is speaking generally about a large group of people. Some did this. Some didn't.
My parents are boomers. They raised four kids, were financially in the shits for most of that time. We were not well off, my da worked constantly and ma did paid work when she could (she was a busy housewife). They are merely comfortable now, but by no means are they flush with cash. They don't own a home, they still rent.
We need to stop this absolutely divisive nonsense. It keeps us divided and not a threat.
Ya, wonder why ya'll weren't well off. I don't want to offend you or anything but there is a difference between being poor back then and poor now. You would be homeless on your parents income today, even with inflation. You wouldn't be able to support rent and four kids now on the same salary.
My spouse always points out how her boomer parents aren't rich. True, but neither of them have a college education. Her mom was stay-at-home and raised 2 kids. Dad was a local truck driver/delivery guy. Home every night for dinner. Lived a very middle income life in suburbia. Sure, it wasn't glamorous but was a good life. Know anyone doing that today? Think the Amazon delivery guy is supporting 2 kids and a wife on that wage? Yes times were very different but the fact is younger generations were literally screwed out of living the same "American dream" lifestyle. Is that the fault of your average Boomer? Of course not, but it's absurd for them to not acknowledge they were major beneficiaries of being born at the right time.
It's about the majority of them. One nice klansmsn doesn't make the rest okay, same here. Boomers fucked up everything, and yes some of them still manage to fail despite living life on easy mode.
