Children shouldn't be exposed to advertisements at all, and many advertising techniques aimed at adults shouldn't be legal either.

What you suggest is government overreach.

So with targeted ads, known gamblers or people with lower credit scores getting targeted with ads for gambling would be government overreach if that was restricted or stopped. Something that would actively help society and the economy and the people involved is considered overreach is crazy.

Just because they government can help doesn't mean they should help -- it's not good to restrict markets.

Let people police themselves when it comes to their wallets.

But in a society where it's getting to be the majority(if nothing changes in the next 15-30 years) that are financially illiterate because there isn't mandatory education on that front, it will eventually become that most people get fucked. Money won't be put into meaningful avenues that can be put back into society. This then affects people that didn't irresponsibly spend their money.

That's also like saying that people can bust monopolies. The government can, but as individuals almost nobody can stop the only company that gives out a necessity.

So you suggest government intervention to protect low-IQ adults from advertisements. If you’re an adult and you let an advertisement influence you to the point of action, you deserve it. Also, there’s more resources available than ever for people to learn about finances. Financial illiteracy is no longer an excuse past the age of 18. You can learn about finances if you want to.

I suggest government intervention from targeted, predatory, and immoral ads. To ignore that people have different intelligence levels is extremely ignorant. But if they start all spending their money on tiktok shop and nobody addresses where wealth goes, it diminishes circulation of money within the US for example. Just because there is more resources about financial literacy, doesn't mean they're appealing. The most appealing ways(which are scams) are targeting people who don't know better. This per person does not affect you, but when it affects 100,000's of thousands, it does affect you. I prefer to have more wealth within the country I reside, is it selfish or wrong to want that? It would affect my way of living(not by a ton, but some) if more people could be spending their money in which it will circulate to local or domestic markets.
