Vintage Dip Pickup at spot
Walked into my LCS yesterday and couldn’t believe what was sitting in the silver bin.
Picked up this entire lot for just $55.45/oz!
I’m a big fan of vintage silver, especially the older art bars and pieces from refiners that aren’t around anymore. There’s something about the history, unique designs, and character of these older pieces that modern bullion just doesn’t have for me.
Finding this much vintage silver at spot is getting harder and harder, so I definitely wasn’t leaving any of it behind.
Anyone else still finding vintage pieces in their dealer’s generic silver bins?

Gold to Silver Ratio at 73.45. Who’s buying silver today?

One year anniversary...
While my basis is high having begun collecting just this past year, this is ultimately for the kids, not me.

Question What to do?
Just looking to crowd source some opinions on this. So I recently acquired this sterling bust of princess Diana (Rest in peace). I was wondering if this actually worth keeping in one piece, or if I should pull off the bust for ease of storage. It is numbered on the back of the frame, came with a box, certificate of authenticity, and fancy cloth... i would feel bad tearing it apart since it came with all the bells and whistles, but the frame is pretty large and might be a pain to store. Do you think it carries more value together, or should I reap the sterling?

First silver found in the wild
Surprisingly enough I got this from my LCS but instead of buying it I received it in change from another transaction. How cool is that? Dude I’ve literally never seen or gotten any silver for free, so finding this out right before bed, is certain to set me up for a great morning! I think there’s a little toning starting to form on this coin as well. Super exciting. Stack tall friends!

Double dipped
I bought the dip yesterday, had to make up for it by buying the dip today. I bought (1) 1oz coin 2014 horse privy maple leaf for spot +3, (1) 1/2oz round SS TILAWA shipwreck silver for spot +3, (4) ounces of silver dimes half Roosevelt and half Mercury for spot, and (1) Mexican Dos Pesos 1945 (probably a restrike) for spot +6. This is my first gold coin, and I’m thrilled to know this 1/2oz round is real shipwreck silver from WWII. Stack tall friends!

Ideas on modern 90% vs pre ‘65 90% US coins
Hi. While looking to buy more ‘junk’ I’ve noticed that modern 90% silver seems to sell for a couple bucks less per dollar face than the more common pre ‘64. The discrepancy exists even when the modern silver state quarters are BU and the junk is worn. I wonder why this is . . . Anyone notice the same?
