Troubleshooting VRAM usage

Is there a way to stop SignalRGB using VRAM without totally disabling it? I checked a few times and at one point it was using 1.6gb of vram. That's insane.

Can you tell us more about how you were using the app when you saw that 1.6GB of memory use? While that's on the upper end of what can be seen in the app, it's not beyond normal. Especially if you have a large amount of components and perhaps are also using an LCD display.

You can also try changing the renderer. Settings > Effect Canvas, then change the Canvas Renderer from the option you have selected to the other one. Hopefully that helps!

I have about 10 RGB devices, no LCD screen. It's just running a few preset patterns and nothing else. The application is minimised. 1.6gb is too much for me to want to give over to it.

It doesn't (far as I'm aware anyway), I'm pretty sure they likely are referring to system memory in general or something

Ahh, they mentioned VRAM specifically twice so I was figuring a weird issue. Oh well

I mean Im sitting watching it's usage with various tools like process lasso. It's using a massive chunk of vram specifically. I think it's the renderer in the app that's doing it. Either way the moment I turn it and the services off I get that vram back again.

Have you tried changing the renderer in Settings?
