Just wanted to do some training in portraiture with my favorite Holmes actor.

Thinking about the stories, I keep going back to the watch in The Sign of Four, where Holmes reads Watson's brother's whole life from scratches and pawn marks. It holds up because every step is checkable. BBC's "Afghanistan or Iraq?" scene is great TV, but I'm not sure it plays as fair. Which deduction do you think is the best, canon or adaptation, and why?
