Just wanted to give a shout-out to my friend Rey, especially with October coming up and the Canton Fair bringing many visitors to Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

Rey isn’t on Reddit, so I thought I’d share my experience here.

I met Rey through Rednote and arranged a last-minute tour with her during my trip to Shenzhen in August. I already had another tour booked, but her plan sounded interesting, so I decided to try it — and I’m really glad I did.

What I liked about Rey was that she actually tried to understand what I was interested in. I’m into tech, entrepreneurship, manufacturing, and e-commerce, so she didn’t just take me sightseeing.

She introduced me to a local engineering team that designs and manufactures hardware products, which helped me understand Shenzhen’s tech and manufacturing ecosystem much better. We also visited the DJI and Xiaomi flagship stores before I continued my trip to Hong Kong.

Based on my conversations with Rey, she can help visitors with things like:

• Customized Shenzhen tours, including car service if booked in advance. She has a small local team that can provide support when needed.
• Business conversations with experienced local entrepreneurs who have been doing business in Shenzhen for decades and can share insights into the local business environment.
• Communication and negotiation support with Chinese suppliers. Since Rey runs her own Amazon business, she has experience working with and negotiating with suppliers. For larger business projects, she can also help connect people with additional local resources.

I'm having trouble getting reporting that's accurate and based on the latest data. I've tried a few tools, but the dataset they use to populate the report isn't appropriate and isn't up to date. I've tried general AI writers. I've also tried building a rough framework with an LLM, but that's not very accurate either. I've tried the answer engines directly, but there's difficulty pinning down where the mention came from, and sometimes the model hallucinates and cites a random forum thread for some reason. Help.
