Ever find out your cameras were recording but the footage you needed was gone?

IT wants to keep storage under control, security wants more history available and management wants footage to be there whenever someone asks for it

The issue is that requests dont always come in right after something happens. Sometimes an incident gets reported two or three weeks later and by then the recordings might already be overwritten

Now we're trying to decide whether to increase storage or get stricter about how incidents are reported. For people managing commercial camera systems, how much retention are you keeping? And do you have different policies depending on the location or camera?

Wired/120v Cellular Camera

Google searching is driving me nuts. I need to find, if it exists, a plug in cellular camera. The barn on my land has power, but no wifi, so currently I'm using a Moultrie solar powered game cam just to keep an eye on the place. It's become extremely unreliable, especially in Wisconsin winter. If it gets too cold it'll shut down, and won't reboot for weeks unless I manually turn it off and back on, causing an otherwise unnecessary trip to the land.

Does any one know of a camera that's cellular but also plug in?

Buying a 360° Wi-Fi camera in India is a nightmare now. What did you buy, and is it actually good?

I'm looking to buy a 360° indoor Wi-Fi camera for around ₹3.5k–4k, but honestly, I'm more confused the more I research.

Tapo and Xiaomi were my first choices, but with the whole certification/regulatory situation in India, they're not as straightforward to buy anymore. Then I looked at CP Plus, Qubo and Godrej, but their reviews are full of complaints about buggy apps, Wi-Fi issues and SD card recording problems.

At this point, I'm wondering if there's actually a decent option left in this budget.

  • My main requirements are pretty simple: 24/7 recording to a microSD card
  • Motion detection and phone notifications
  • Playback through the app without paying for a cloud subscription
  • Stable Wi-Fi and reliable remote live viewing
  • An app that doesn't randomly disconnect or mess up recordings

Simple....

For those of you who've actually bought recently and used one in India:

  • Which camera did you get, and why did you choose it?
  • How long have you been using it?
  • How's the app and Wi-Fi connectivity been in day-to-day use?
  • Does SD card recording and playback work properly without a subscription?
  • Any recurring issues, or has it been pretty reliable?
  • Knowing what you know now, would you buy the same one again?

Would really appreciate feedback from people who've used their cameras for a few months or longer. Short-term reviews only tell you so much.

Looking for camera similar to Arlo: wireless, no subscription, motion activated, comes with easy app, can download vids, SD storage or free cloud that expires + auto clears content after 30-90days

We had arlo for a while. Unfortunately, Arlo screwed us with an update last year or so, their cameras no longer having functional motion detecting+recording.. only with a paid subscription :| Its frustrating as they were the perfect cameras for our needs. Outdoor+indoor, waterproof, the battery lasted for weeks before needing charging, motion detecting recordings which would auto erase after a couple months minus any that we saved. So I'm looking for something similar if anyone has suggestions of what they like? I like Unifi Gen 6 cameras, dont like the nvr additional cost of set up. I also like Tapo system, but these are wired.

Some preferences:

- Wireless
- Motion detected recordings
- No subscription
- No additional NVR needed, perhaps a small hub like Arlo has is fine if reasonable
- App where we can view recordings, save what we want, delete etc
- Can be either SD card reliant or footage deletes after a month or so
- Weather resistant would be nice, I use mainly indoor but also for wildlife just outside, so within wifi range

Good poe cctv systems and in home security systems?

So im kinda new to security systems I used to have an old school dvr setup back before all the smart cameras.

I just had my car stolen from my house yesterday and they had jammers that knocked off my cameras as well as phone service. Nor did my silent alarms not go off when they walked onto my property. The jammers knocked off all my neighbors cameras and essentially every house they drove like within 50 feet of.

Now im ditching all wifi based security systems and want to go back to a poe setup thats battery back up and all. Im not looking to spare expenses as it was a 100k valued car. Any info would be greatly appreciated for me to look into!
