Discussion More winning rhetoric from WA State Human Rights Commissioner and Northshore School Board Director Han Tran
In her latest Substack post she writes:
"What is striking is that the interviewer, James Cameron, another giant in the film industry, remarks that the Rebels [in Star Wars] are akin to Al-Qaeda and the mujahideen. He points out how we often label such groups as terrorists.......
Today, the Rebels would be seen as the Houthis or Hamas, both of whom are deemed terrorists by global and colonial powers......
The genocide of Indigenous peoples in the U.S. also influenced Ze’ev Jabotinsky, a founding ideologue of Zionism........This is a war against an Indigenous people, the Palestinians, by a settler colonial entity, Israel. People want this to be a holy war so they can continue to instrumentalize antisemitism. White European Zionists use antisemitism to shield the world from seeing the reality of genocide.....
The truth is clear: there is no moral case for the existence of any colonial power, whether it is the United States, the United Kingdom, Israel, or any other....... Does this mean that I wish for the death and destruction of everyone in these colonial countries? No. Will colonial powers disappear overnight just because I wrote this essay that no one will likely read? No.....
Will I change my mind given different information? Maybe. Today, this is where I stand. This is the truth I know so far. And sometimes I want to be reinserted into the Matrix because the grief from the truth is so immense. I get Cypher and why he did what he did. Just erase all my memory and let me live a life of bliss. But then I remember that I'm here because I'm supposed to be. I also feel in my bones that there is also a labyrinth of matrices. Only the surface has been scratched. More needs to be learned. I am not yet liberated.
I recently learned from Vietnamese author Việt Thanh Nguyễn that roughly 300 Vietnamese refugees were resettled in Israel, which makes sense given that it is a settler colonial state
Palestine is already free. It is the rest of us who are not liberated."

This person leads a state agency whose mission is to fairly and without bias investigate discrimination disputes among employers and public spaces. During her term as a commissioner she advocated against this objectively not offensive anti-Semitism presentation from being displayed at the Wing-Luke Civil Rights museum https://www.wsjhs.org/museum/confronting-hate-together-digital-exhibit.html effective suppressing Jewish voices in her community using her platform as one of the few Asian American Human Rights Commissioners to do so. With her being so willing to publicly express bias imagine her fairly handling a claim of discrimination from a Jewish or Israeli immigrant before the Commission.

It appears she thinks the Houthi, Hamas, Al-Queda and mujahedeen are the good guys,
I don't think she should be on the WA State Human Rights Commission (or school board director) with that mentality. She was appointed to the former and elected to the latter.
