A: Playoffs, so it shouldn't.
B: They are tracking resellers and canceling them going forward. I 100% bet missing a playoff game is a big no no

Great! I want a zero-tolerance punishment for whoever sold the ticket to niners.

They’ll probably just buy the non resale tickets. I’m seeing non resale for around the same price as resale tickets

Pretty expensive to get that granular. Much cheaper to just have a reasonability threshold.
16
u/downladder Jan 12 '26
Yeah, not buying a playoff ticket is an option if you're not going to go.
12
u/nearlysober "I'm just here so I won't get fined" Jan 12 '26
I'm on the season ticket wait list but was given the opportunity to opt in for playoff tickets this year direct from the club. I don't know if it was some STHs who opted out to open up some seats or what happened but I'm grateful for them!
And after 11 years on the wait list I'm hopeful that I'm close.
21
u/downladder Jan 12 '26
You're a prime example why season ticket holders should be held accountable with their tickets. The privilege needs to belong to the passionate fans with a wait list a decade long.
IMO, there should be a limit of 2 games resold and 1 to an in division rivals. Playoff ticket resales are automatical revoke.
6
u/nearlysober "I'm just here so I won't get fined" Jan 12 '26
I dont have STs yet but I do have Sounders tickets. With the Sounders we have the options to do a few returns a year, back to the club, for face value as a credit on future tickets.
So if you can't make it, can't find a friend or family member to make it, you can give it back to the club. Of course those then likely just end up ticketmaster and go to whomever (including opposing fans).
I know there's an unofficial fan-to-fan connection service (forget what it's called). But it would be nice if the Hawks initiated something like that. Or maybe a "sell to the waitlist" feature. You list it with the club at face value and they send offer letters out to the waitlist.
5
u/downladder Jan 12 '26
I'm fine with a "sell to wait-list" system to a limit. And make tickets bought from that unavailable for secondary market.
I had to jump through so many hoops when I wanted to see a Premier League match, but my trip was during Darby(?) week and there were resale restrictions that would make US fans go insane.

u/_illogical_ Jan 12 '26
I know there's HB Tix, by Hawk Blogger; where they try to verify everyone as true Seahawks fans, but I haven't tried it yet.
I know that the emails I get from the Seahawks about my tickets say that if I can't get them to family or friends, then they want us to donate unused tickets to veterans, through their own program.

u/meepmarpalarp Jan 12 '26
How do they track whether they’re resold?
My partner and I are in a season ticket pool with two other couples- one couple are technically the ticket holders, but we split all the games three ways. The ticket holders were on the wait list for over a decade, and by the time they got the opportunity to buy, they had young kids and not enough free time to attend a full slate of home games. I don’t see an issue with that, because their seats are always filled by passionate fans who show up and get loud.
I think there’s a difference between a situation like ours, vs flipping tickets to opposing fans for a profit.
7
u/downladder Jan 12 '26
Tracking if they're resold is easy. Modern digital tickets are basically linked to accounts and easy to track.
For your situation, there could be a separate exchange for current wait-list members to buy wholesale from current season ticket holders and a system to register additional alternates to your season tickets.
2
2
u/_illogical_ Jan 12 '26
Newer season ticket holders get automatically opted-in to post season tickets.
I know that they gave season ticket holders the opportunity to get up to 4 additional post season tickets (in waves). They probably opened that pool up to the folks on the Blue Pride list afterwards.
I waited on the notification list for about 8-9 years before moving to the official wait list (capacity of 12000), and was on that for about 4 years before being picked for season tickets this year. I was in the last wave this year and signed up for 4 seats, so mine are pretty high up on the visitor side.
1
u/tread52 Jan 12 '26
The tickets for my friend around 900$ for third level and they aren’t buying, so those will be open for fans
1
u/Patient_Dust_8017 Jan 12 '26
Is it though? Seahawks just purchased them for me with my card in file and didn’t even ask if I was interested. For real.
5
u/NuclearIntrovert Jan 12 '26
They can only track sales on Ticketmaster. All other sales show up as “transfers” as far as Seahawks organization knows.
1
u/amphibiot Jan 12 '26
The letter I saw posted said that they found your seats listed for sale. Since any ticket site will tell you where the seats are, the team would just need to scrape a few reseller sites to know who shouldn’t get tix next year.
4
u/NuclearIntrovert Jan 12 '26
But they don’t know if that sale was a sale or if it was was a transfer when it’s done. You could put the tickets for sale on Craigslist, then you transfer the tickets. It’s the same as if you sold them to a friend.
The letter says right in it, sell to friends, or the community.
However if you sell through their portal (Ticketmaster) they know it was a sale.
1
u/NobodyExpectedThat Jan 12 '26
Agree that Craigslist, fb, and places like HBTix would be harder to track. If they see you listing them on StubHub etc, though, they would suspect you’re just scalping.
2
u/NuclearIntrovert Jan 12 '26
Again stubhub are just transfers.
E.G. for this game say I sold 2 tickets to my sister-in-law and her husband. They could then go and sell those on stub hub if they wanted to. Which would be crappy of them to do but it could happen.
Now as far as I'm concerned I did what the seahawks office asked me to do. I sold the tickets to family fur an unknown price. For all they know I gave them to them.
The ONLY way for the seahawks to KNOW that you sold them on the market place and only have the tickets for the "sole purpose of selling tickets" is you put them directly on tickermaster from your season ticker holder account manager.
1
u/amphibiot Jan 12 '26
You replied to another poster but apparently even seeing your tix listed is getting you a nasty gram from the team. My point was that they just need to see you trying to sell the ticket to raise a red flag.
Sure you can plead your case that you ultimately sold to a buddy but I would rather have it be my butt in the seat without any possibility of the team raising a stink.
2
u/NuclearIntrovert Jan 12 '26
The nasty gram clearly says “our records indicate”. Their record are ticketmaster.
1
u/amphibiot Jan 12 '26
I read it. Yes they have direct access to Ticketmaster. However, my point stands that they could also easily build a record of scraped records from other listing sites. It all depends on how strict they want to be.
1
u/NuclearIntrovert Jan 12 '26
They could but web scraping is against ToS for pretty any commercial level website, including Ticketmaster, stubhub, seat geek, etc. it even violates seahawks.com ToS.
Getting into questionable legal territory.
In the Seahawks season ticket holder terms, the only rule is that they reserve the right to terminate your ability to buy tickets if they determine the primary purpose is for reselling tickets. Doesn’t say you can’t sell or gift to friends, doesn’t say you have to personally attend a percentage of games, none of that.
1
u/Solaife Jan 12 '26
Just a fyi, there was an article about them taking images of every season ticket holder and building a record. It was posted on reddit a week or two ago.

u/NobodyExpectedThat Jan 12 '26
This is all true. I have several coworkers who beg all season for tickets but never want to pay even face value. One of them was really close to buying my Rams tickets (I couldn’t go). The tix went on Ticketmaster because she couldn’t commit and they sold fast, but who knows whether the team will care about one game. Would they still care if my coworker had flipped them (which I suspect was her plan)?

Honestly I wish the MSRP of the play of tickets that we get through the blue pride list was cheaper. I think mine ran me like 750 each for nosebleed level seats. That is like World Cup ticket price level and no where near world cup popularity level.
1
u/onlevel7 Jan 12 '26
I'm pretty sure the face value for nosebleeds for the division round was $250. That's what we paid for ours as STH
1
u/kosanovskiy Jan 12 '26
Wow yeah that is much less than what I was offered with a blue pride link. Well I have 2 year max wait after 11 year wait on my STH line so its okay. I hope those prices that you saw still remain.

Hawks Management is threatening season ticket holders with cancelation if they sell their tickets into the scalper market. They want all resells to go through the Hawks ticket resell portal to control crap like the first game with the Niners.

u/demzy84 Jan 12 '26
What is this Hawks ticket resell portal you speak of?

These aren't season ticket holder seats. These seats are leased to ticket sellers directly, who are able to get more selling to visiting fans.
82
u/nokiabrickphone1998 Jan 12 '26
It’s the playoffs, there will be a decent Niners contingent there but not more than 20%
29
u/iceamn1685 Jan 12 '26
I would say way less than that
You can only get tickets through third party vendors, so it's already been sold out. So it's highly unlikely too many season ticket holders or avid fans are going to sell their tickets
24
u/3DGuy4ever Jan 12 '26
Problem is, our season tix holders arent avid fans anymore
17
u/iceamn1685 Jan 12 '26
I disagree especially with how the team has showed out.
Look at our last 3 home games it was less than 10 percent other fans compared to the 1st 5 games
4
u/Tabs_555 Jan 12 '26
I was at the rams TNF game and in my seats (300, midfield, opposing side) I was only seeing 5% rams fans
9
10
u/khmertsunami253 Jan 12 '26
Gotta tell the hawks to make the playoffs a bit more affordable to locals. Non resale prices are like $600 after fees right now
1
u/Reggaeton_Historian Jan 12 '26
It's a playoff game. Are we really expecting $50 nosebleeds in a stadium where the nosebleeds not ever $50?
1
u/khmertsunami253 Jan 12 '26
Nah $50 would be awesome though. But you can’t really be mad at the fans for not showing up to the stadium if the back rows in the 300’s are $600 after fees. Everyone in this sub probably has a nice tv setup as well.
1
u/iceamn1685 Jan 13 '26
I think it's the same attitude as a superbowl. It's a once in a lifetime experience or maybe only a handful of times in your life experience that your team is going to make the super bowl or even make a deep run in the playoffs. So people are going to pay good money when that does happen.
13
u/AelixD Jan 12 '26
Hey, some of us sat through every game of the Jim Mora era, and we’re still showing up.
I’ve been a ticket holder for 20 years. And I recognize many of the holders in my section, who are there every game.
Not everybody is reselling. But I agree with the team’s stance that reselling for profit should put your season tickets at risk next year.
When it looked like Seattle might host a playoff game, we had to either commit to buying our seats, or forfeit and let the team put them up for regular sale. So any season ticket holder reselling made that decision in December. They didn’t HAVE to buy the playoff rounds. So if they want.a quick profit, give it to them, then give their seats to the next person on the wait list next season.
1
u/dingsha Jan 12 '26
The mora year was…..oof
2
u/Actor412 Jan 12 '26
Pete was a slow fade, Holmgren was like a cut to black. We make the playoffs nearly every year he was here, then boom: 4-12. Mora takes over, we're 5-11.

u/JasonDomber Jan 12 '26

No kidding ! They have some of the worst fans ! Hopefully they are priced out of this game but a ton of tickets for sale
19

People that own the behind visitor bench 100 level are scalpers basically. They need tickets revoked
1
u/JasonDomber Jan 12 '26
I’m not sure how to do that. I need to ask my ticket rep, but anybody with “Charter Level” tickets essentially have paid for a license to have the right to those seats.
I’m not sure if even the Seahawks organization can legally revoke those tickets.
Plenty of other sections, yes, but charter level? I don’t think so….
13
u/Anxious-Yak-9952 "We did not care" Jan 12 '26
It’s been said before but that lower bowl behind the visitors are not owned by season ticket holders, I believe they’re owned by other corporations/brokers.
2
u/Rescheduled1 Jan 13 '26
Correct. the lower bowl seating from ground level up to the first main walkway are Charter ticket members (these seats have name plates on them), which we paid $4,000 for the actual Charter ownership and then still pay aprox. $5000 per year for the season tickets. (plus another $6000 for our Club seats) The Hawks cannot force Charter members to give up their memberships, unless they want to pay the 4K back to them. We usually sit in our Club seats which are far more comfortable than the Charter “mosh-pit” and unless other family are going to a game, we sell the Charters to pay for our some of our next season, and travel costs. We have also given these tickets away on occasion as thank-yous. I do not see how revoking season ticket holders will help anyone. People pay good money for season tickets, and they cannot make every single game. This year we only attended one game due to a death in the family and illness. Also, if the NFL starts banning season-holders from reselling tickets and cancels their memberships, then they will have to find someone else to fill the void and buy those season tockets. I doubt the Seahawks Reps who ensure you renew want to lose that commission, nor does the organization want to lose confirmed renewal dollars. And I personally do not see the problem, since Hawks fans live all over the country, not just Seattle, you will always see them at Niners, Rams, games etc. Home games are always filled with Hawk fans.
25
10
u/coyoteinapond Jan 12 '26
We’re underestimating how many Bay Area transplants live in Seattle now because of tech. There’s gonna be a decent amount of 49er fans.
14
u/Turtlman_ Jan 12 '26
i think there will probably be a lot of Red behind the niners bench. that area's seats are mostly ticket brokers. However i am hopeful that the rest of the stadium is hawks fans
also i was not at week 1, but even though it looks bad i heard from my friends who went that it was like 85% hawks fans
2
u/emomatt Jan 12 '26
It was literally that strip and nowhere else. It was actually the least niners fans of any game against them in ten years, imo.
→ More replies (1)1
u/JasonDomber Jan 12 '26
It was mostly that strip. I wouldn’t say nowhere else. I had a good chunk of Whiners fans in my section (342)
1
u/emomatt Jan 12 '26
Outside of that strip it was no different than the normal smattering of away fans you get at any NFL game.
6
u/Enough-Constant-7213 Jan 12 '26
There will be plenty of them. I doubt as many as here though. The casual fan wasn't bought in at this point. That is no longer the case I'd wager.
7
14
u/trusomus Jan 12 '26
It's already started. I have a close friend who is a Niners fan (I know, I know) who has already bought tickets for him and his wife. I'll be there in my season ticket seats wearing my Seahawks gear, but too many of our season ticket holders are chasing the 💵 whenever they can now.
I sincerely hope the Hawks mean business on their resale threats. I hate what our home field has become. Nothing like it was in the last SB run and prior.
4
u/pow206 Jan 12 '26
Were you at the 2013 NFC Championship game against Niners? It was flooded with red. Probably will be again this year. Hoping their fans have given up and won’t come since that team is an absolute disaster.
11
u/QuasiContract Jan 12 '26
I was at that game and this is accurate. There were tons of 49er fans in attendance.
It is going to be the same next weekend. That is the reality of playing another west coast team with a large, affluent fanbase.
2
u/trusomus Jan 12 '26
Yes, I've had my tix since 2000 and been there for all three NFC Championship games, including "The Tip." This season's opener was far worse than the 2013 NFC Championship game. That stupid first down chant they do was audible throughout the stadium for the season opener. Embarrassing.
Internet resale has made it too easy to get tickets to any event if you're willing to spend the money.
2
u/pow206 Jan 12 '26
I was at all three as well. You’re right about it being worse recently. Hoping that not having the long lead time to plan of a regular season game will keep niner fans home. I went to the last playoff game vs the Niners in the Bay, and there was a large contingent of Hawks fans there on short notice, so not counting on the short turnaround as a deterrent unfortunately.
One thing that really sucks this year is the astronomical prices people are trying to get. Most fans know and are waiting till the prices come down close to kickoff, so having a week to get those in the hands of Hawks fans has now passed with still a TON of those tickets for sale..
8
5
u/mindriot1 Jan 12 '26
5% Niner fans? That’s what’s in the picture. The reason they were so loudest because they were beating us. And yes, I was at the game.

u/ApprehensiveBoot5483 Jan 12 '26
Gotta take those charter seat licenses away from ticket brokers if you expect to do that
3
u/THEIntoxicatedGamer Jan 12 '26

I agree so passionately, but what can actual fans do? Reselling fucks are charging $600 for nose bleeds. I work in education. Most real football fans don’t have silicone valley 400k salaries.
It’s exhausting being priced out of even sports in this country. In Europe, you get to support your team regardless of your class standing. Ticket resales not being capped in America is just so anti consumer. Fucking sigh…
5
u/Visible_Court_3732 Jan 12 '26

Everyone use Hawk Blogger’s (Brian Nemhauser’s) ticket exchange program. If you need to sell your tickets, the application helps validate you’re selling to an actual Seahawks fan. It’s free to use, too.
1
u/JasonDomber Jan 12 '26
How does he verify that the people buying tickets are actual Seahawks fans?
2
u/downladder Jan 12 '26
Years ago I was trying to go to an EPL game and to buy tickets, you needed to be a subscribed supporter for at least a year during their rivalry matches and it seemed like it would cross reference information with other teams supporter sites too. There was a small block for opponents and neutral fans.
Can you get around it? Sure. But you're going to get emails and texts about the team you don't like A LOT. Also, if you only ever buy one opponent, it's going to become obvious by year 3.

Lots of casuals thought we were gonna be shit this year, how well a teams doing/projected to do really does have a huge impact on how many people attend NFL games in-stadium, even here in Seattle. Especially in this economy. Only truly hardcore fans would want to spend a shitload of money to have their moods ruined. It’ll be packed with homers this next game though most definitely, especially with how they’re cracking down on reselling to non home fans.

Doesn't matter if it happens again. 9ers travel well. But... we've done a lot of winning since then, and a lot of it at home which was not always the case in the last few years. I have season tickets. Their terms and conditions say that we must attend “the majority” of games otherwise we are considered resellers and will be banned from renewing. I’ve sold two or three games this year, when I was listing my ticket for the Houston game, I got an email from the rep saying I had to price them at market price (I was listing them for maybe $80 with a face value of $100) Then I see posts where they’re saying we can’t list them on ticketmaster cuz they’ll consider me a reseller? Wtf. So much for season ticket holder benefits. The FO can’t micromanage their way to stop opposing fans from attending. If anything, just region lock anyone from buying tickets. If your bank account is at in the PNW, then you can’t buy tickets. I couldn’t buy Yankees/redsox playoff tickets as a Seattle resident - had to live In NY to buy tickets. Fuck the niners.

Asking as a European, why is there not more discussion about having home and away sections in NFL stadiums? Is it just culturally just a non starter?
1
u/JasonDomber Jan 12 '26
There are home and visitor sides at the stadium. The thing is, we don’t forcibly separate them here like in Europe.
Even though we have avid and rabid fans, the likelihood of fights breaking out here like they do with soccer hooligans is surprisingly much, much less…
We just hate each other with our eyes and body-language (mostly).

I worked at the stadium for a couple of seasons and was stunned how deep the 49ers fans roll. It’s like all the tech brows that lived here changed there jerseys for the game.

Nah, I doubt it will. First game of the year and not many people were thinking we'd be anywhere near this good - I think a lot of people chalked this one up as a loss
Now? Nah I doubt anyone's letting their seats go and they're so damn expensive it should hopefully limit visitors

I can’t see how it won’t happen. Probably going to be a lot of red next Saturday.
We can preach how much ever we want about not selling tickets to opposition fans etc but it’ll be in vain IMO
Good thing irrespective of the large number of 49rs fans, I have confidence we can take care of business at home

People sell tickets to important regular season games to cover the season ticket price. For the price of one big home game, they get seven other home games.
At least that's what I read after the Packers game a year or two ago.
That's a shame but it makes more sense than selling playoff tickets. Why would you want season tickets if you weren't going to go to a home playoff game?

Californians are fleeing their state and moving to Washington. This is part of the reason there is so much red.

If for some reason, someone ITT can’t go, I’m happily accepting free tickets and will wear SO MUCH blue and green :)

There will always be some opposing team fans behind their bench, this wasn't nearly the showing people think it was, the red just popped. I was there, on that side of the field. In those maybe 10 sections it was maybe 60/40 niners fans, but outside of that it was 90/10 and the red just stuck out.
They might get 10% of the tickets and will be loudest when we're quiet so they'll stick out. But we will always drown them out.

But where can one find one of these Homefield Advantage Offer Codes in Ticketmaster? I'm trying to buy 3 tickets and am a Hawks' fan but no one I know seems to know anything about these codes or how to get them?

It will happen, look at the ticket prices.
Seats on the very top of the stadium are going for $650-850 right now (4x their cost)

Fans are fickle. The team has struggled to win at home. Ticket prices are nuts. The economy is getting worse. It's hard to spend $1K+ to watch the team lose.
I hate that it happens, but I can understand why.
