I’m planning on buying my first ever car; that’d be the 2011 Scion tC 6M, but i wanna hear from you guys about what I’m getting myself into; as far as from what i know currently that it’s using an Engine from a Camry and that it has better take off than the 1st Gen FRS lmao, but also being Toyota Reliable here n there. I’ll be sharing pictures soon as i have the car n such.

Aside from that, I have big plans on building this machine. Mainly the rather more insane being that I wanna turn my Scion into a Sudo Fan version of a Kamata Fiera from Ridge Racer, I loved the game so much that I’d love to build my car off one of the playable machines pfft

I just wanted to ask you guys how your guys gas is on the car I get about 350 to 400 kms on a full tank to empty, I just bought the car 1 month ago and have to fill up at least 1 time per week.

Unfortunately an oil guzzler… but a smooth ride otherwise. 200,000 miles +

2009 tc....~260k miles. oil used to burn from the top dot down to a dry dipstick in just a 360 mile highway trip. Thats a couple quarts? anyway i did the berrymen solvent cleanse thats mentioned in this sub often and now it takes me over 3k miles for the dipstick to go dry (HUGE WIN).

I want for my car to drive faster and smoother. what mods can i do to quiet the noise that comes from an older car like this? and boost acceleration a bit..mechanics have told me that this car is only halfway done if i look after it. i do my oil changes, spark plugs, coil packs(and refills due to consumption) and have one guy for tuning up shit that i dont know how to do. what can make this shit accelerate like a new car though?

now this is mostly to vent but feel free to help out uhh i have a shitty EVAP system..mechanic did a smoke test today and smoke came from my gas cap so i replaced that but my car is still driving funny with the check engine light back on and stalling everytime i fill up my tank. (p0171, p0441, p0455) They already replaced my purge valve under the hood months ago and told me today that one is still good.

hi! looking to get my first car and came across a 2014, 137k miles, $5.9k, VERY light scratches bumper/side scratches or a 2015 release series 9.0, 90k miles, replaced (unpainted) fender and headlight on drivers side, CV axles & brakes replaced last year, $7.5k. Wondering if there was any pros or cons between the two, and i wanted to hear what you folks who’ve personally owned one has to say.

Hey yall, I’ve been car searching for months and have finally landed on a few different options, the 2014-2016 tC being one of them. I’m really only looking for an auto, I don’t want a manual daily driver.

I’ve read pretty mixed things regarding the reliability of these little coupes. I’ve heard of trans issues, oil burning issues, bad paint quality, bad interior quality, the list goes on. (I’m taking about the U760e and the 2AR-FE)

I absolutely love the way the 2nd gen tCs look. Especially the “limited editions”. I have my eyes on an orange and black two tone one currently.

My other two options are a Honda Fit or a TT V6 Ford Fusion sport. The tC is like the middle man out of the options. Would yall recommend one? Thanks!

Got a unicorn supposedly, Monogram tC with katkin leather seats all over. I never heard of this company so I looked them up, turns out the seats are not cheap replacements but full-fledged leathers seats. Next to it is my Mazda 3 with 316k miles on it.

My 1st gen trd got stolen. I’m sitting on brakes plus TC lower cam burg upper king plus brakes and front grill lights etc.

Could this just be a dirty maf

I was coming home from work today and heard a clunky, awful noise while making a left hand turn that straight killed my vibe.. could this be an issue with the CV axle? While jacked up, the wheel has some top to bottom movement and accompanying clicking noise but not when shaken left to right. Assuming it’s that, how much of a pain in the ass is this gonna be to DIY?

Edit: It was indeed the wheel bearing. The hubs seal was hardly intact and my poor girls balls spilled right out of that sucker! The rear half of the assembly was then just rusted to the knuckle but after a good bit of mollywopping, both it and the dust shield came off.

My front and rear bumper have definitely seen better days. First incident with the front bumper was not my fault, car got dropped off rear of a trailer because it was not loaded properly, and it ate the side rail, cracking the bumper and removing most of the paint on the passenger side, it’s held up (and looks… ok..) after some DIY on the go AutoZone paint can repairs.

The rear bumper is not horrible, it has almost no paint damage, it got rammed into a cinder block wall so it has little dents all over it… thanks Anna.

I’m thinking about getting a full KBD body kit and doing the painting myself. I’ve watched quite a few tutorials, it’s not a quick one day thing for sure, but it’s do-able.

What’s everyone’s general consensus on their full kits? I hear nothing but praise from owners of KBD kits on TikTok.

Hello everyone! I wanted to see if anyone has gotten any after market side mirrors for a 2008 scion tc? I recently noticed that a piece of one mirror is missing 🫠 both mirrors are in pretty rough shape and I figured I might as well replace them. Thanks in advance :D

I made the mistake of using a 12 point socket on the belt tensioner of my 08 TC. The socket slipped and rounded off the bolt head. I bought a 6 point 3/4” socket and tried again. It also rounded off.

Should I try vice grips, or do I need to replace the belt tensioner? I was doing research and it sounds like I might need to remove the passenger side engine mount and jack the engine up to remove one of the bolts. Does this sound right?

6k for a 2015 tC. It's manual but it sounded like the input shaft bearing was going out and I heard that's like 3k to fix? It's got about 105k miles, the bumper has a slight gap (bent clip or something), and a barely noticeable driver door dent.

Thinking about buying this one, the owner is asking for 2500, thoughts?

So I just got my 2011 tC and just got done putting some new front tires,all new rotors, and brakes on. Now it’s some little odds and ends left. I’d like to get a phone stand just for gps and music. Any models that someone could recommend?
