Question Does this pipe setup work?

Post image

i hope someone with more knowledge can help me. I am trying to balance my aluminum setup. I have a bunch of sloppy alumina refineries that produce 240 solution. I combine 2 of those in a mk2 pipe, connect those to a bunch of electrode aluminum scrap refineries, and then use a T junction hoping that the remainder would flow to the next pipe (attached to the t-junction) with the same setup.

Everything is prefilled. But does this actually work or am I too hopeful here?

So long as you're careful not to try and put more than 600 per min through a pipe it should work. If you run into issues look into a Variable Input Priority setup, they tend to solve most of my issues with flow when working with Aluminium

Thanks! I have some of those setups somewhere else already, but this way its looking a tad bit cleaner, since everything else was already setup.

In theory, yes. But you should really put some valves on the ends of the pipes that go out and back into themselves, that way the waterflow is only in one direction from there.

Nothing goes back into itself. But I do have valves to make sure two lines don't try push against each other

Well, on first glance it looks like it should be working. But at the same time while this kind off construction seems simple enough (let me use and re-use the water forever), something somewhere is going to break for whatever reason in the later sections of the production chain and bring the scrap production to a halt as a result, because all the fluid pipes clog up and the circle can't continue because the refineries run full of excess water and you have to drain it manually to get it going again...

My recommendation would be, that either on the aluminum scrap or aluminum bar output, include a sink in a way that every excess gets used, so the pipes and refineries can never get clogged full with water...

There’s no water being reused! It’s just a setup to move excess fluids into the next pipe. So if there’s a clog it can only go into the next pipe or building because of the valves

So, what are you doing with the water biproduct coming out with the aluminum scrap? That has to go somewhere. If you put it into tanks, they will be full after a while...

The water goes into a bunch of wet concrete and copper refineries and gets poofed out of existence (the copper is used though). I didn’t want to deal with that whole loop and I’m next to water for the initial water that’s needed. Nothing loops back in
