Personally, I do not want hate groups to use any facility that is funded by provincial and federal tax dollars. I hope others will send emails to WDM and let their feelings be known.
If this event is allowed to happen the museum is going to lose a ton of support from people I know who frequent the museum.

Swiss Chaletβs ordering website shows a location in Saskatoon. Appears to be a house. Has anyone ordered from it? Is it real?

Saw this at City Hall yesterday after hearing about it in the news and thought it was neat. Turns out that City Hall windows were killing lots of birds because they're so reflective. The dot patterns break up reflections so that birds don't try to fly through. Glad the city is doing this and would be cool to see more buildings do the same!

The Dominion Society of Canada is a far right hate group focused on βremigrationβ and the spreading of racism and bigotry through misinformation and praising settler colonialism in Canada.
Feel free to sign and/or share the petition to ban them from Canadian academic institutions.

I just read through the candidates bios on the election website and they all seem decent. Are any of them a book-burning dickbag or are they all pretty safe? Looks like they all have a background in education so Iβd guess theyβre decent but you never know.

Does anyone have any experience working for Sanctum Care Group? Why are they always hiring, often the same positions over and over again? High staff turnover? Or rapid expansion?
Anyway, I applied for a few positions, just wondering if itβs worth moving jobs for this place. Any feedback appreciated.

I'm sure I can do it myself using youtube, but I'd rather pay someone that already knows to do it...

June 2026 I took a bucket of used electronics including laptops, smartphones and tablets that I was no longer using to 2900 Jasper Ave S Sarcan. As recommended on Sarcan's website, the devices were wiped of personal information. There were some iPhones present that still had the activation lock on it. I didn't care to remove it as Sarcan confirms that on their website that they securely dismantle the devices, however, I am now receiving notifications that the iPhones are being activated in Hong Kong China.
Based on the instructions and policies I see on Sarcan's website, my understanding is that this was a secure process and data security was taken into account but it would appear that these devices are being sent to China and sold. Either the process outlined of the fully secure dismantling is untrue, or the devices are being intercepted before they make it to the secure dismantling site.
https://sarcan.ca/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Electronics-Brochure-English.pdf
This is more of a heads up to make sure you are wiping your electronics before taking them to Sarcan as the process is obviously not secure, I imagine an employee somewhere has a side gig selling the still functional devices.
EDIT: Just want to add for people curious. At the Jasper Avenue location they have you go to the side and ring a bell where you can just dump your stuff and leave. I wasn't comfortable with that so I waited until someone came to the side and they took all of my items and loaded them on a cart, took them beyond the door so they were not sitting publicly available for theft.
I obviously have proof that the iPhone in question was triggered for activation by Find My in Hong Kong China but it's not like I took video of all the items as I handed them to Sarcan. Perhaps this is news worthy but I don't think I'm holding enough evidence to hold Sarcan accountable, instead I think it's important that people know that your data needs to be erased prior to recycling even with a known company like Sarcan.

To be clear, there is no money at all to host a staff party. Not sure how many will show up, maybe 30-50? Are there are any community halls that we could have a get together for free around the city? If we donβt have an alcohol license, can we bring a receipt to prove weβve paid for our own alcohol? TIA!

Does anyone happen to know where I can buy hypochlorous acid for disinfecting? I'm specifically looking for more than a liter jug. I've looked online, but shipping is more than $20 for most brands. I want to avoid paying for the expensive shipping if I can lol.
Sidenote: I guess I need to clarify that I'm using it as a regular cleaner. Its a pet safe alternative and disinfects unlike most pet cleaners, which are usually just enzyme cleaners. An enzyme cleaner doesn't disinfect surfaces.

The engage page for the bus network redesign has been updated to include two preliminary bus network redesigns, as well as dates for several open houses.
There is a coverage design, which is more focused on spreading buses and bus routes evenly throughout the city. Similar to our transit network today, that sometimes involves circuitous routing that sort of zigzags around in order to ensure that coverage. This option features almost all routes having 30 minute frequencies 6am-6pm on weekdays, while only the three Link lines and the new 2 line (Lawson/Clarence similar to the 17) would have increased frequency. Generally speaking you can think of this as having a bus stop closer to you, but you might need to wait longer and have a slower ride.
The second design is a ridership focused design. It straightens out some of the more zigzaggy routes, and just removes some others (where a shift in other routes somewhat fills the gap). Routes are still spread across the city, but there are some areas that don't have a bus route as nearby as others. With this network, more buses can be allocated to certain routes to increase efficiency, bringing the higher frequency to the three Link lines, and the new 1, 2, and 4 lines. Some other routes may also have lower frequency and run every 60 minutes instead of every 30 (although during rush hour it's usually always every 30 minutes at least). Generally you can think of this as having to walk further to the bus stop, but usually waiting for less time and the ride itself being faster.
Other notable mentions are new bus stop sign designs, since most existing signs would have out of date information once the changes are made. Also a "Crosstooner" cross town line π
I would encourage anyone who rides the bus, or would ride the bus if it didn't take an hour to get to where you're going, to try and make it to an open house, ask questions and provide feedback.
With all that out of the way I'll provide my initial opinion, but I reserve the right to change my mind after attending an open house. I would lean towards the routing of the ridership design personally. While the coverage design definitely has some quality of life improvements over our current routes, and would be an improvement for some, a lot of it is fairly status quo it seems, the higher frequency routes would just be aligned with the higher frequency routes we have today (e.g. the existing 4, 8). The ridership design is definitely a bigger change that would have more impact on people (good and some bad probably). I do wonder if the ridership design is a bit overkill on frequency for some of the new routes, like the new 1 or 4 for example. Rather than every 15 minutes, I wonder if every 20 minutes (still better than the coverage design's 30 minutes) would free up enough buses to improve some other routes as well.

If you're the owner of a red Honda Civic in the Sportchek parking lot in Confed, my brother and I witnessed someone hit your car at around 7:35am. Police have been notified. I have the plates of the vehicle that hit you!

hi guys, Iβm 20 and looking for a new job. Iβve been working the last few years and spent a year abroad doing photography school.
Iβve been applying to a bunch of stuff on indeed but getting no responses, even with cover letters. Does anybody have any recommendations? Iβd love to be full time, and have full availability and a car
Thank you so much
