Culture, Language, Race & Religion Thesis on adapting Iban folktales into Comics

I wrote my master's thesis on adapting Iban folktales into various forms of sequential art, including comic, art installation, and sequential collage. Here's the link: Developing Sequential Visual Artworks based on the Iban Folktales, as part of the Sarawak Bornean Culture. One of the major output of this research was a comic book adaptation of an Apai Alui/Apai Saloi story. It's in open access so anyone can download it. If you find this subject interesting do give it a read.

Jobs and Careers Questions on GETS-WRP

I applied for GETS-WRP back in August this year. I didn't receive anything about the 14 days review for weeks so I thought I didn't get it. Then, I got a good part-time job.

So, here's the thing: I got an e-mail this week that said my application was accepted and they wanted me to do an online assessment. I scored well on the said online assessment. I was curious on the questions and I had friends who wanted GETS-WRP so I did it to pretty much see what the assessment would be about.

My questions now would be:

  1. How long after the online assessment should I expect to hear back from them?
  2. Since they just announced Cohort 6 would start this October, does that mean I'm part of that cohort or the next cohort?
  3. The part-time job has a contract period that would last until early next year. It's not stopping me from looking for other stuff to do for when I'm not on the clock, but GETS-WRP did mention applicants should not be employed at the time of application. Has anyone been in a similar situation? I like the part-time job but the GETS-WRP is a good opportunity for me if I do get it. I've discussed with my supervisor as well about this, and she was fine with letting me go.
  4. I'm at the last leg of my studies, so all I'm doing is waiting for thesis endorsement. There's literally nothing going on but I'm still a bit concerned about the part where it says you need to be free from educational responsibilities (iirc). Though, I do have a friend who got GETS-WRP while still being an active student back then (no longer a student now though). Has anyone else been in a similar situation? Should these be mentioned in the interview?
