Yes, and the loading screens have mostly been great. I remember being so hyped for the Anniversary one.
However, I wish they would deviate from the "We need to show every character that is available this Era" formula. It has them becoming a little generic and just a bunch of people standing there to show that they'll be around. Like Embo and the Ranger do not need to be on this, it could've just been Mando.
I will never forget the Mando high after season 2 ended. Hell even season 1. But man those first two seasons were so good and breathed some much needed life into Star Wars.
Ever since Luke left with Grogu it's been nothing but bad vibes since. A bad season 3, a bad book of Boba, a mediocre as best movie, a cheap mini era in this game for an out of control cash grab GL.
Mando has turned into the personification of everything wrong with Star Wars after being it's biggest beacon of hope since Rogue One.
They tried to un-guff the MacGuffin but The Mouse can sell way more merch and toys by keeping the green guy around. Same incentive for the retcon on Boba. Cash. Grab. It's cool, it's just a story for kids about space wizards at the end of the day.
It's the fact that they refuse to grow his character which really gets me. Every single thing that happens to him that is the slightest bit exciting gets reversed. Grogu leaving, him getting the Darksaber, the Razor Crest being blown up, him getting more comfortable taking off his helmet, ect.
It's like they're stuck on that season 1 high and want to force an undeveloped Din & Grogu down our throats for as long as possible, but we're all beyond past that. The ignorance is insane.
There was actually a point in GoHs life when I really wanted a Darksaber Din GL. Back before Bo took it back on a technicality of all things and I thought his character was actually heading somewhere truly exciting. Now though? I couldn't care less about him. It's a bit sad really.
I want a random time jump Grogu story. Show us who he's gonna be in 100 years or whatever, tease what happens with Mando and him, etc. They set up the perfect way to have a blank slate for the galaxy and yet... nothing.
I agree with almost everything you said, except the part where Mando was ever good. Even the first season is mostly boring as fuck. There's maybe two episodes' worth of footage that isn't a sidequest snoozefest.
Yeah unfortunately the former Overseer of Star Wars is to blame for a lot of it Disney refusing to get rid of Kathleen Kennedy was their biggest blunder ever but not surprising given entrenched the ideological rot is in every major company after the Metoo crap that she wasn’t booted. I loved Mando S1 and S2 than heard she got her grubby hands on S3 and immediately knew it was going to tank and low and behold it was terrible.
There is countless examples of crap that she did or said that led to outrage and i’m not saying so much the allegations side of the movment but all the push for all their feminism crap that kept leading to failures like Acolyte and other series that tanked the Star Wars Brand’s image. Hopefully Filoni manages to get the franchise somewhat back on track now that he’s in charge of Lucasfilms. (Acolyte was the most egregious example but a lot of bad writing was everywhere like the Lightsaber kill rule no longer being followed in several series.)
If you feel outrage, that’s on you, you’re responsible for your own emotions.
Acolyte’s actually pretty solid if you rewatch it, I think it felt like weak writing due to the weekly release schedule and the way it was marketed as a mystery to solve. It works much better as a whole.
I am one of those people that gets a little tired of how people look for reasons to hate Star Wars. Yes, my post was about being tired of Mando. I don't hate Mando. I hate what it's become, but I still have Mando collectibles in my house. It was good at a time. And I enjoy Star Wars, so I enjoy the Star Wars I enjoy and just try not to spread negativity as there's enough of it around.
That said. Acolyte is AWFUL. I've tried to watch it three times. I wanted to be fair about it. It stinks. It's not solid. The release schedule does not hurt it. It's just bad. Really bad. It deserves the hate it gets.
How is the Kathleen Kennedy shit still in people's heads? She let Abrams and Johnson make the movies the way they wanted. Tony Gilroy was given huge autonomy and a a huger budget for Andor. Kathleen Kennedy is not the devil. The difference between Andor and the Filoni shit is Dave Filoni.
Glad its only a month long. I probably won't try very hard on these guys since I don't care for GL mando. I'm more curious on what this supposed crazy era after this is.
I to be honest don't try on stuff I don't want. Like I don't care that PKH or GLLO are the big metta, I want Jabba because hes funny and cool and I don't come across him in my GA or Squad Battles ever.
Quite literally. I was fine with Rotta even though unlocking him through NR was boring. Now that you can’t even get the new GL without spending AGAIN is crazy. Not even a worthy galactic legend either.
Also from a collection perspective in this game, shadow lord brings a lot more desirable characters to play with than these lame ass new republic glup shittos
Which ones? I take those glups over ... Maul...whenever people complain about Palps returning...and then gush about Darth "i got chopped in half and fell down hundred of meters" Maul I just ... urgh...Maul is the poster boy for Star Wars being dumb too often...
I mean, they said they were doing a New Republic GL and the lead up to it would focus around that faction, so I’m not too surprised. It’s like how the lead up to LV was mostly prequels, and the lead up to PKHO was around Pirates (although that one wasn’t quite as long as this).
I swear with all the super high relic levels and the amount of money it takes to get mando day 1 he BETTER be the best GL for a long long time, cool loading screen tho

No final requirements with this update. The whole thing is stretched out over 8 months. Mando this, Mando that. Era resources change with every era. I'm exhausted.
I don't hate the mando stuff. But come on man there are so many more things they could be doing like Maul Shadow Lord. They did a Mando movie era before the movie even came out!
