Question SQL Failover Cluster error during failover Error 2310

During failover of a MS SQL Failover Cluster I got this message in the event log. The failover itself completed but in the logfile i found this error which occured during failover:

ERR [RES] File Share <SQL Server FILESTREAM share (MSSQLSERVER)>: Error removing share 'MSSQLSERVER'. Error 2310.

The share in the failover cluster manager looks like that:

Does anyone know if this error is serious? Iam trying to reduce failover time.

i saw this exact warning on our production clusters too. Error 2310 usually just means the cluster manager tried to remove the FILESTREAM SMB share during the failover, but the share was already dropped by the OS a millisecond earlier. Its a harmless race condition during the resource offline phase. It shouldn't actually degrade your overall failover times, but If your failovers feel too slow - try looking closer at the database recovery phases or your VLF counts

I’d check whether the share is working correctly on the new active node and whether this error happens on every failover. If you’re trying to reduce failover time, check whether this warning actually adds any delay before spending time troubleshooting it
