Other than Charlie Day in 2011 and the 5-TIMER goat Danny Devito why hasn’t anyone else hosted from IASIP? Sunny has been around for 20 years or so. Make it make sense.

This may be a controversial topic. No matter who I mention, I'm sure I'll anger people. Sorry. I recognize these are only my personal opinions. I'm curious to know if you think any cast members are overrated and why? If you disagree with my opinions. that's cool too.

Chris Farley - I never thought he had much dimension. He often played the buffoonish fat guy. The show relied too much on his physicality, which I didn't think much of. I think he's overrated because he was a likable person and his death was so tragic.

Bowen Yang - I totally get the importance of having gay and Asian cast members. I love a lot of diversity. I just don't think he's funny at all though. He always seems self-conscious to me. A little hammy and cutesy. Like Farley, I don't think he has much dimension. Yeah, he can play a gay guy or Asian guy, but those aren't really stretches. In any other roles, I don't know. I just think he's kind of annoying. I think part of Bowen's vibe is knowing how beloved he is, but I also think that detracts from his acting. I've never laughed at anything he's said.

John Belushi - Just kidding!

Funny story about meeting Kenan Thompson over 10 years ago
This was probably over 10 years ago, when I was around 10 years old. My family decided to volunteer at a homeless shelter in Tampa on Thanksgiving, which wasn’t exactly how 10-year-old me wanted to spend the holiday. I was trying to find the silver lining, and I figured there might be some Buccaneers players there.

So naturally, I spent the whole time looking for Buccaneers players.

At some point, I walked up to Kenan Thompson and asked him if he was a Buccaneers player. He replied, “No, but I am big and black.” 😂

He was really nice and took a picture with me.

There was also a separate family moment that day that still makes me laugh. My grandpa is Italian and can be a little confused sometimes. We were making sandwiches assembly-line style with a bunch of strangers, and my grandpa was stationed at the mustard. He put a ridiculous amount of mustard on the first sandwich, so my uncle asked him what he was doing. My grandpa said he liked mustard and started eating the sandwich. He genuinely thought we were making sandwiches for ourselves and hadn’t realized what the event was for. 😂

Just a good family memory with some funny stories. I figured SNL fans might appreciate the Kenan encounter and to hear that he’s funny and kind irl also.

The backing musicians sound fine to me but I feel like the sound engineer, or the mic, or something seems kind of hollow or too low level. IDK I'm no expert in sound, but I feel like every act so far has been let down by the poor sound on the lead singer.

She's really funny and the show has never had a wheelchair-bound host. Obviously, her disability would need to be taken into account when writing sketches, but if they're clever, they could make it work.

If you could dream cast this season of hosts, who would you choose? I’d love to see Tom Holland, Zohran Mamdani, and Adam Scott be invited for the first time. I’d love to see a high energy musician get the invite, like Ella Langley. Kristen Bell would be a stellar and versatile choice. And it’s time to bring back a legend who’s never hosted: Parnell, Gasteyer, Moynihan. Who do you think would be a good choice?

Who did it it better?

...Yours?

Like, both good but also straightforward. Both done before but also refreshing in a way? I can't put my finger on it! Maybe because both have such 'new' high energy. Anyway, good shit!

She just had one of the biggest songs of the year

Anything else?

Hey all - I'm not exactly the target demo - 72 yo white male. Enjoys the show, watching primarily for the cold open, and WU.

When they introduce the musical guest, I'm like "Cool, WU is next (finally).

Last night was like holy shit, she's amazing, even had me looking forward to her 2nd song.

What about you young ones in the target demo? Did you like it, hate it? what???

Finally got to watch George’s appearance on Weekend Update, and I immediately got flashbacks of John Belushi’s frenzied bits on the WU desk. I was sad to see so relatively little of Fouracres this weekend, but his “Professor Grumblepiss” or whatever brought me weird joy.

Am I stupid? I thought Michael Che left the cast last season and Colin was solo hosting weekend update but I just watched a season 52 update and he was there. Everything I google makes it look like he never left but I SWORE he was gone because I remember the collective outrage online…am I losing my mind?

Last time Shane hosted it was the worst episode of the season.

And this one was even worse.

I'm amazed that Lorne asked him back.

This was really bad again!!!

The cast tried but you cant prop up a scumbag!!
