I have twin boys and we have toured SMU & Baylor, and will be touring Vanderbilt and a few others. One twin is going into the ministry and so is probably going to Baylor. The other is undecided but is potentially interested in BioChem. Expresses an interest in research. It bc he’s unsure has also expressed an interest in law (I’m an attorney) But as a parent I can see he’s completely undecided… he’s really analytical, super responsible, really athletic but quiet in large groups. He likes that SMU & Baylor have Christian fraternities & lives that SMU claims to have LOTS of study abroad, study Taos, etc.. & that’s it’s all paid for by the school. He’s really conservative & strong in his faith. Can anyone speak to whether he will find a place at SMU, whether the Christian fraternities accept all or how likely it is to get in (he’s hilarious & fun but is quiet until he’s comfy) .. whether the study abroad etc opportunities are as prolific as they claim and fully funded by the school (hard sell from the school) .. if he’s undecided … will they be as understanding of that as Baylor seems to be? Whether the research opportunities are as prolific as they claim (that was a hard sell from the school) .. whew! I know that’s a lot but we’ve just left & any opinions are welcome.

Do you think I'll get into Cox Early Action with a 3.6W and a 1490 (780 math)? Two APs including Calc AB senior year, which don't factor into my GPA yet. Business internship, sports, leadership, etc., private prep school that does not have a ton of APs. Trying to decide if I need ED for Cox.

My brother is planning on applying to SMU early decision, but wanted to see if he actually has a shot.

2.9 UW GPA / 3.6 W GPA

Not submitting SAT because sub 1100 score

Sailed since a young age, while on attending many competitive regattas, and on the high school team

Has had a couple jobs - restaurant busboy and sailing coach helper

Lots of honors classes, but no AP (only AP Psych senior year and grades are not posted yet)

Applying from South Carolina (not sure if out of state is helpful or hurtful)

I saw that the acceptance rate for ED is much higher than regular decision so wanted to see if he actually has a chance given this.

Thank you

I just went to mustang day and absolutely loved it. Great day love the school and all the people who made it happen. I have around a 3.4 gpa pretty low I know but have very strong extra curricular activities like internships, sneaker small business with over 10k revenue, president of coding club, other small leadership like sports captains, lots of service especially teaching related service. So my question since I have multiple business focused ec is it going to help a lot to go Ed for cox. I know that if I do not get into cox then it’s not binding so it feels worth it. I feel like if I get into cox regardless that’s where I will go. Any thoughts will be excellent I also have a good relationship with the admissions officer and have performed lots of demonstrated interest.

Everyone’s a winner baby that’s no lie

Do you remember 1st times?

I wanna major in journalism for undergrad, possibly also pre-law.

GPA- 3.9

I'm applying test-optional bc my SAT isn't high enough to apply with, and most of my classes have been dual-enrollment (17 dual enrollment classes) since I'm homeschooled.

Activites- political journalism lead on a blog, teen court juror, law firm marketing intern, class admin for international religious classes, muslim student associaton event coord, marketing intern for org that teaches english to refugees, student volunteer for special needs adult events, democrashe (civic engagement org) summer intensive fellow, also got social media internship with them as well. I'm also a lifeguard

what are my chances?

visiting for a game - what are the sections in the stadium we should try to sit in or avoid. anyone know which sections will be shaded?

Huh, so apparently it's possible to make a lap around Bishop Boulevard in about 30 seconds while only causing some minor vehicular mayhem. Good thing campus police didn't catch me...

This is a follow up to my post where I turned SMU into a video game level, but now with a circuit racing minigame around the boulevard! Added an option to turn the traffic way up because why not. Cars have collision now and the DART buses are unstoppable tanks for added difficulty.

Built in three.js and have a demo here if you want to try it out: All Roads

Looking for a rundown of the business frats at SMU. Pros/cons?

Hey all! Two of us are over from Scotland for work in Dallas and staying for the weekend, and we've got tickets for Saturday's game. Neither of us has been to a college game before but we are avid watchers of american football, so any general advice for first-timers would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, looking forward to it!

Hey guys!

Got a group of friends from Boston College meeting up in Dallas for this weekend’s BC at SMU game, and we were seeking any recommendations for good bars to check out prior to the game or any tailgating recommendations.

Thank you in advance, and we’re pumped to check out SMU!

Selling 2 Harry Styles tickets for April 14 — GA1! I’m selling them for what I paid, $670 total.

I’m happy to meet on campus so we can transfer the tickets and payment in person for security reasons :) Posting here in case anyone is interested! Feel free to DM me.

I've been working on a low poly driving game of real world locations and decided to turn SMU into a playable level. Now I can zoom around campus and finally get to my classes on time!

Planning to add more realistic NPC traffic and fully drivable garages soon so that I can live my dream of not being able to find a parking spot in a video game just like IRL. Still in the early stages so open to feedback!

Hey guys, I’m thinking of applying to SMU for 2027 and wanted to get some honest opinions from current students/alumni or anyone who’s applied recently.

My profile:

• CBSE Commerce + IP + AI
• 79% in 10th, 88.4% in 11th
• No Math in 12th
• SAT — aiming for 1300–1380
• Student council, athletics, debate, Olympiads, charity
• Built a prototype for farmers’ welfare

Do you guys think SMU is realistic for me? What should I work on the most before applying? Also, how important are the SAT, extracurriculars, and Kira/interview? And does not having Math in 12th cause any issues for the Business management ?

Would really appreciate any advice/experiences. Thanks!

I have already applied Early Action for Fall 2027, but I feel like my stats are below average especially for cox, and I want some feedback because I won’t hear back till December

I know the law school sells merch pretty often
