Imagine giving up 2 homers to Eric Haase on 2 consecutive pitches.

IMO, MadBum is hands down the greatest postseason starting pitcher in this century. Yamamoto was a flash in the pan. He had that one game last postseason. Madbum has THREE RINGS. He was great in 2010, 2012 and unbelievable in 2014. Yoshi stunk tonight. He pitched as if the plate was a moving target. Couldn't get past 2.2 innings. Maybe the janitors at Miller Park let him throw out the trash before he left the park? Hopefully he didn't miss the bin.

MadBum had a better single WS performance anyway. Yamamoto was impressive, but Bum did the same thing but better. Pitched a 7 inning W in game 1, a CGSO in game 5, then pitched a 5 inning save to close out game 7. That’s a legendary performance that will never be topped.

Exactly!

Playing devils advocate. Getting a 3 inning save on 0 days rest might be seen as more impressive than a 5 inning save on 2 days rest understandably.

2.2 innings, technically, and also not a save because they brought him in as a panic button because they were behind.

madbum was pretty ass in 2012 until the world series.

Oh ya I agree. I did mean the postseason for those years. He was always a better big game pitcher than he was a regular season game pitcher.

i was speaking about the playoffs. gave up 10 runs in 8 innings the first 2 games he pitched.

not much of an argument if you have to outright lie to make a point. bumgarner was pulled from the rotation in the 2012 nlcs, leading to zito's heorics, but somehow the poster i responded to recalls him being great that year. he was in the world series start but not the post season as a whole.

The amount of glazing mlb and fox do over Yamamoto is insane.

To be fair, they did just as much glazing of Bumgarner in 2014. If you ask them, Bumgarner won that title by himself.

This comparison is what immediately came to mind right after game 7 last year ended

Can't wait to revisit this when YamaGOATo goes back on the road and redeems himself (and Will Smith remembers to use an ABS challenge)

Losing to a city like Cleveland in the playoffs would be beyond amazing

You want them to get to the World Series? I’d prefer they lose to the team they’re currently playing. Always.

Edit: It seems you aren’t aware they are currently playing Milwaukee.
