I haven't been this obsessed over a LI for a long time, but this man hits differently. Gentle, caring, respectful, loving, passionate, loyal, devoted, funny (only with Liren) and also, he is the only one who actually treat Liren like a human, with care and respect. He is the sun to her storm and she is the spark that ignites something in him too.

They both went through hell, both are warriors and also very vulnerable. They compliment each other, which is something I totally love about them. Anastasia is doing an incredible job of feeling them, loving them. Liren on her own is unhinged, hilarious and strong minded, but with Rael she becomes more soft, caring while also staying true to herself and her character and I believe both have to face some road blocks along the way because of the Magisterium and Ashmar. So I personally can't wait to see how the story progresses.

With the stakes rising in Song of the Crimson Nile, I can't stop thinking about how Remy handled stat branches in Kali: Call of Darkness—and honestly, it makes me nervous for our endings.

In KCoD, path choice wasn't just flavor text; it was literally life or death:

Kindness of Goddess was practically mandatory for Amrit and Ratan.

Rage of Goddess was essential for Killian and Lima.

Picking the wrong path could easily get your LI killed or lock you into a brutal Bad Ending.

Now looking at SCN, we have Loyalty 🏵️ (protecting the Shesmu, holding onto tradition, defying the anti-magic decrees) versus Chaos 🦅 (backing the Pharaoh's new order, Horus worship, and accepting the phase-out/eradication of dark magic).

Because Remy loves high-consequence endings where your ideology needs to match your partner’s reality, how are you pairing your stats with your LI to secure a Happy Ending?

Here is how the dilemmas look right now:

Ramesses: Seems firmly tied to Loyalty. He is our Shesmu brother and a necromancer. Picking Chaos feels like siding with the very machine hunting him down, which screams potential tragedy.

Set: Logically leans Loyalty as well. Despite being the literal god of chaos in mythology, within SCN's stat logic, Set is the patron and protector of the Shesmu and the old balance. Would picking Chaos mean betraying the dark craft he commands?

Amen: The biggest wildcard. On paper, he is the Supreme Epistates enforcing the Pharaoh's will, which sounds like Chaos. But would an Eva on Chaos simply become his accomplice while burying who she is, or does a Loyalty Eva force him to choose between duty and love—potentially leading to an execution or him dying for her like Killian on Kindness?

Livius: An outsider who values human life and healing over dogmatic laws. He despises senseless cruelty, but he isn't a Shesmu. Could he thrive on either, or will one path isolate him from Eva?

Agnia: Independent mercenary aligned with the hunters' network. Does she favor the pragmatic stability of Chaos, or will her personal bond with Eva pull her into Loyalty?

Anubis: The guardian of the Duat and the Scales of Ma'at. An ancient god bound to cosmic order and traditional passage rites—does he demand Loyalty to the ancient ways?

For those romancing Amen or Livius in particular: what route did you lock in, and what is your survival strategy? Do you think Remy will punish mismatches as ruthlessly as she did in Kali: Call of Darkness?

What’s your absolute favorite story on RC?

I’m excited to catch up on Code Blue and waterlily but I’d also love some suggestions on new books. I usually tend to like stories in first person voice where the main character is well rounded/not just barreling towards a conclusion of the story. My faves are VfV, the missing (xoxo Mads I’ll love you forever), code blue so far

In what stories does it happen?

Correct me if I am wrong but most (?) stories follow the familiar pattern plot-romantic interaction ($)- plot- plot- romantic scene ($). At least the older ones.

I don’t normally replay because of it tbh but few stories surprised me.

I remember playing PSI when i noticed how Lou randomly thought about her LI. And then the same thing happened in LoW (when Mei was wondering if Takaos hair is white everywhere) ha ha.
