Book Suggestions

Hello, I looked around the internet for easy to read books about the romans, both republic and empire eras as well as the kingdom. I wanted to ask if these books are really easy to read since English is not my first language and all my knowledge about the romans are from youtube videos and the history of Rome podcast. Are any of these books redundant or useless if I already listened to the entire podcast? or do they offer more?

• Hadrian And the Triumph of Rome -- Anthony Everitt
• Cicero - The Life and Times of Rome's Greatest Politician -- Anthony Everitt

Drop Storm by Duncan and Cicero andHadrian by Everitt. See these two posts on [r/badhistory](r/badhistory) for why.

There isn’t a specific post about Hadrian there but Everitt isn’t a historian and his books have a lot of issues with being out of date or containing factual errors so they’re best skipped in favor of a more up to date and better researched book.
