Hi, ever since I installed the Gotterdammerung DLC the game has been getting worse and worse. Basically, it began with annoying changes to the game such as requiring Germany to own west kalimantan to demilitarize the rhineland, some focuses putting "." under affects, and being unable to hire certain advisors after completing the necessary focuses with the advisors having text saying something along the lines of "invalid focus: FRA_(id number probably)". Then, after a while of that my game just stopped working with Rt56. anytime I try to play the game with Rt56, it reaches the loading graphics part of the loading screen when opening the game and then it crashes. I have extensively troubleshooted this to no avail. I have done a clean install of HOI4 and the mods, deleted the mod folders inside of the hoi4 documents, cleared game caches, verified files, and yet it still doesn't work. The only mods I have enabled are: Road to 56, simple peace deals, railway levels - visual, FPS map, folk music for countries, and songs of mlp: friendship is magic. I have had to deal with this shit for like the past week, any help would be massively appreciated. Thanks!

I have wanted to mess around with formables in RT56 Expanded for a while, and there are a couple (e.g. Dutch Colonial Empire, North Sea Empire) that require you to beat up the British as a minor nation like the Netherlands or Norway.

When I'm playing Germany, I would just pre-prepare a naval invasion through the North Sea and set it to launch before the war starts so that they go before the Brits can get in the way (or at least I would on older versions), but I don't think that works on RT56(E) any more and even if it does, I think these smaller navies wouldn't be able to pull it off as they wouldn't stand a chance against the Royal Navy.

How would I go about killing the Brits as one of these minor powers? Do I just have to beat up a major and steal their navy or is there some other method that doesn't require that I actually fight the Royal Navy?

I tried china and gave up and germany was pretty fun, same with the soviets. who else do I try. I'm not very good with minors.

I've been using Road to 56 for a long while now, without any issue. Recently, I picked up the Gotterdammerung DLC and afterwards anytime I play Rt56 a lot of stuff isn't as it should be. For example, to remilitarize the rhineland I need to own West Kalimantan, or as France when I take the focus invite communist ministers, I am unable to hire the government official it says I would be able to once the focus is completed due to it saying something like FRA_(I dont remember what it said) is not a valid focus. I have tried to fix this by reinstalling rt56, reinstalling HOI4, clearing my games cache, but nothing worked. I eventually decided to just uninstall Gotterdammerung and keep it uninstalled while I played Rt56, however even after THAT all the issues that came with the dlc carried over to after uninstalling it. If someone could please provide some help, I would greatly appreciate it.

I ran out of equipment and stopped making divisions a while after I'd taken Nanjing, but even after I got my equipment up and running I forgot to make more divs. I still won. Didn't variate from the starting templates much.

It was a struggle at first, but eventually I got over that hill once I started pushing down the coast. Both of us were struggling with equipment throughout most of the game (for me in particular it was support equipment early on and then guns in the first half of the war), but China had it way worse. I probably screwed up by going for encirclements even though doing so slowed me down, but I did eventually get those troops encircled and it put a dent in their numbers since I was able to snare dozens of troops at once if I put in the time to close the pockets. The final months of the war were just whack-a-mole with any remaining provinces ROC had since they have to lose every single province under their ownership to capitulate.

Since I'm playing with Expanded, which adds a Greater Japan formable, I decided to go for said formable by annexing the territories that it needs off of China and leaving Wang to govern the Chinese outback. I still can't form it though since I need an unspecified fraction of territory that includes both Soviet and Allied puppet land, though I'm sure that I'll be able to figure out some way to use this mod's demand buttons to avoid a naval war. Yes, I played Japan without any understanding of how to properly use the navy, so I intend to avoid the Pacific war by any means necessary.

(As I'm typing this, I realized that I forgot to move my air force once I got past Shandong. *facepalm*)
