Richardson homeowners: what do you wish you’d known before your last HVAC repair or replacement?
What frustrates you most about your HVAC system, and what do you wish you had known before making a call on a repair or replacement? I’m also curious how you like to get that kind of info.
Some context on why I’m asking. After years of doing SEO for home services companies, I kept seeing the same problems with HVAC info in Richardson.
- Very few sites use Richardson-specific data. Most pull costs from national averages or a single vendor.
- The sites that do offer local info are usually owned by one HVAC company that funnels leads back to itself. They aren’t shady about it. It’s right on their about page.
- HVAC is complicated, and without good resources a lot of homeowners overspend or pick the wrong tech.
About three weeks ago I started building an independent resource for Richardson homeowners to fix that. I’m not affiliated with any HVAC company. The research has been a lot of phone calls vetting local companies, reading what people say about them online, and walking neighborhoods. People usually assume I’m selling something. I’m not.
One person in this sub pointed me to an HVAC tech, and we’ve had some good early conversations about him getting involved. Happy to share the site if anyone wants it.
