I reverse engineered Black & White with Astra and added LLM integration by exposing the game world as tools and context so you can now control your creature via Chat!

Why would I want this?

As limited as it is in retrospect it was a huge leap ahead of anyone else at the time.

It would be much more valuable to leave the original in tact and add intro-operability and transparency to the original model.

The original AI is still in tact, the LLM allows the creature to explain itself and you can also ask it to do things via chat not just the leash.

what tools did you set up to get the agents to reverse it and test/validate?

Mostly I went back and forth with Astra asking me to do certain things while monitoring changes in the memory snapshot and validating what happened, until it had a decent understanding of how the game engine's flags mean in their DLLs.
