I’m getting tired of programming subreddits where interesting discussions get buried, while the same AI ragebait and repetitive career posts keep resurfacing.

I’m looking for smaller, discussion-first communities where developers actually talk about engineering, architecture, systems and technical ideas.

I already know Hacker News and Lobsters. What else is worth joining?

This is r/RedditAlternatives. This community is for alternatives to Reddit—not for advertising other subreddits.

Effective immediately, anyone posting or promoting their own subreddit here will receive an immediate one-year ban. This applies to both posts and comments. Consider this your warning.

Thank you to everyone who has been reporting these posts and bringing them to our attention. We appreciate you helping us keep this community on topic, and thank you for bearing with us while we address this.

To the users contributing discussions and feedback, and the developers sharing what they’re building: thank you. Your participation is what this community is here for, and we appreciate the time and effort you put into it.

Thank you.
