An illustrator posted today in facebook about pass of legendary spanish painter Manuel Sanjulian in this month at 85 age, but i can't find an official statement, someone know more about?

Given dynamite also going on compact editions. Is the first run good to read ?

Comic Art Fans lists this as "Red Sonja wraparound cover," but I wasn't able to figure out which book or comic this one belongs to.

I can get really nitpicky before choosing a cover to do. Specially since dinamyte loves variants so much.

So.... i ended up doing a cover of Red sonja mother (Issue 1, not sure if is a variant or not) by Jay Anacleto. Which i found to be lovely.

What are your favourite comic covers of Sonja? (Can be from any series pre/post Dynamite. Including crossovers)

This is probably a hot take, but I wish the comics had more continuity between each other. It doesn’t have to be overtly explicit or connective, but a reference or two for keen eyed readers to recognize as a hint of what came before. I do like that you can basically pick up ANY Sonja comic and not have to read anything that came before, but still.

I’m thinking it as kinda like the classic James Bond movies (1962-2002) where there were references to the previous films at times, but you could still consider every Bond actor’s era or even every film as a different universe from each other IF you wanted to.

Not ALL the comics have to connect, but maybe a volume-three with small threading would be cool, but that’s just me. It’s not a dealbreaker for me and this isn’t really me complaining about anything.

For me, this was a pleasant surprise from Dynamite. I really liked the format. I prefer anthologies; I find them more appealing for telling stories about mortal characters than a chronological approach, where the character's age remains static and we don't get to see them grow older. The quality of the stories in this series was a bit uneven for me, though there were some truly worthwhile ones (unfortunately, I didn't have access to translations for all of them—I only read four issues). As for my favorites, the work by Kurt Busiek and Steve Beach stands out; they are definitely artists I’d love to see working on Sonja again. What are your thoughts on the series?

Got my blind bag and sadly did not get a sketch cover. But its a pretty cool collection - a coin, virgin foil cover, metal trading card, and 2 autographs. The Amanda Conner cover has a DF seal on the cover to go with the CoA.
