Back pay disbursement delay- Dire need case

Congressional Inquiry, M2M Escalation Completed. What Else Can I Do?

I’m looking for advice from anyone who has experienced a similar delay with SSDI back pay, especially former SSA employees or anyone familiar with the Payment Processing Center.
I received a fully favorable SSDI decision after a lengthy appeals process. My case was sent to the Payment Processing Center on August 18, 2026, and as of October 15, 2026, I still haven’t received my back pay.

My back pay is substantial (approximately $100,000 before any applicable offsets), and SSA previously told me that the windfall offset calculation had been completed but the payment required review by three different individuals because of the amount.

Here’s what has happened so far:
August 18: Case sent to the Payment Processing Center with dire-need status.
September: Multiple calls and visits to my local SSA office requesting expedited processing due to severe financial and medical hardship.
September: SSA advised that the windfall offset calculation was completed but the large payment needed additional reviews.
September: Submitted a congressional inquiry requesting assistance with the delay.
September–October: Multiple high-priority requests and follow-ups with SSA regarding my back pay.
October 5: A manager-to-manager (M2M) escalation was reportedly completed, which SSA confirmed to me on October 13.
October 15: Still no payment, approval confirmation, release date, or meaningful update.

I’ve also requested a critical payment because of my financial hardship and ongoing hospitalizations. However, my local office continues to tell me that I must wait for the Payment Processing Center.
I’ve even been denied opportunities to speak directly with management during some of my attempts to escalate the situation.

I’m not expecting anyone to provide an exact payment date. I’m hoping someone with firsthand experience or knowledge of SSA procedures can explain what might be happening behind the scenes and what options I realistically have left.

Any insight would be helpful
